Can we please go riding now ?
I've had mine for 2 years ... I use the TYRE software which works fine. It is slightly buggy from time to time but not more than other apps I have used in this realm.
A couple things I have found that have helped me greatly ...
1) Change the map color scheme to the one entitled "sunlight readable". Other colors work and the thing is pretty good in the sun really ... But, the different color scheme does make a noticeable difference ...
2) When using TYRE to make a route, make sure that you zoom in to the way-points that you create and verify that they are on the right side of the road. Tyre uses google maps as its source and (I am speculating) some roads show as one (bi directional) lane and the GPS assumes that you are going in the direction of your route. Some roads show 2 lanes (Only if you zoom in can you see this) and each lane goes the opposite direction (obviously). If you simply drop a way-point when zoomed out, it sometimes gets placed on the opposite lane than you intended and when you try to activate the route (on the road), it does not end well.
This is not an issue with the GPS. It will route you as requested. But, if you all of a sudden (in the middle of a route) find that the GPS is telling you to turn around and go back from where you came, it is because one of the way-points that you made is on the wrong side of one of your roads ...
If you find yourself in this predicament, use the option entitled "go to next way-point" and it will get you back on track ...
