This is important. This means something.
Yes it do mean something important :) It means that those pesky parrots are again going to nest on the power tower and create havoc. There are some released pet parrots that build huge nests off of the power poles and light poles that create a real hazard. Sections of CA are actually called Amazornia.

(Here in New England all we get are eagles and ospreys nesting on the power towers. )

Great pixs JB!

So I see 2 FJR's in the pics. I assume 1 of them is yours, but do you know who the other one belongs to?
Actually, neither is mine. I have a blue '05. I don't know who they belong to--no one on this forum as far as I know. I think the '07 pictured is the same one I talked about here from Minnesota (BTW, the silver FJR in that post is not the same as the silver one in this post, so that's three FJRs I've spotted in the City).

Oh, so you're Larry Flynt's philosophical assistant, eh?
What's the deal with the tree full of parrots (makaws, whatever kind o' birds)?
Those are the famous wild parrots of Telegraph Hill. Once somebody's pets, they got loose, and the rest is history. There's a documentary made of the, described here.

hi Hanscool pictures, I have been to that club a few times. B)

Hmmm.... Why am I not surprised....?

Thanks everyone for your compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful, world-class location that people come from all over the world to enjoy. Hans

Nice Pic's JB!

I have visited SF only once back in Sept 2000. From your pic's does not seem to have changed much since our last visit. The timing for our visit was not the best as wifey and I had no idea beforehand of the big gay parade in Castro was also being held at the same time. Made for some interesting observations for this po dunk from MS.

We stayed in the Hotel Boheme on Columbus Av. There was a awsome Italian deli just down the street, a block, across from the Catholic church, but I forgot the name. We spent every morning in Cafe Trieste sipping java and eating breakfast. Wifey and I were there for 4 nights and 5 days and got to see most all of your city. From there we rented a car and headed N to Sonoma and Napa for a few more days and got some more quality time down in Monterey as well.

Beautiful area, everyone should find the time to experience. Thanx for taking me back!

Thanks JB. -Sometimes- makes me wish my sister & bro-in-law still lived in their place off 20th & Geary (they're in Central Oregon now). I'd watch the fog roll in from the coast, up Geary, until it ungulfed everything. Used to walk down to the Cliff House for something to do when I visited. And the summer blues festival was always a good time.

A local community near me recently had some issues with them damn parrots, too. Causing power-outages and such. The neighbors raised a big stink when the city tried to capture them, they picketed with "save the parrots" signs...oh brother.

Great shots -- thanks JB. I wonder what electri-fried parrot tastes like? It must be a local delicacy. Anyway, I sure wouldn't eat at a KC nearby.

I opened the thread and expected purple hair and nipple rings.... instead I get culture...jeez !!

Ecellent composition Hans! And glad to see the Parrots are fairing well still. :)

Great photos! Why does San Francisco have what looks like tornado sirens (first picture)?
