Thanks, all!

We are currently in York, PA, and will be making the run to Long Island tomorrow. We'll be a 5-bike group: 4 old guys on Harleys, and Mrs. BG and I on the FJR. I'll be riding sweep so I don't lose them.

Had an awesome ride along Route 50 from Morgantown today. I'm sure Mrs. BG has some good pics that'll go into the RR.

Thanks again, and ride safe!

Is'nt your bike gonna overheat riding that slow? Anyway, + 1 on Vermont Rt. 100. I just did it, from begining to end, last weekend. I love that road.

BG99,

When you get up this way, I'll ride with you for a while, and can show you around ME and northern NH. I just finished up a busy day of riding with Canadian FJR around western Maine and NH. Ask him if he had fun! Like you, I have plenty of time to ride now that I'm retired. My GF, Arlene also likes to ride, but mostly on day trips.

Charlie

If you go to bar Harbor, be sure to take a ride up Cadillac Mtn. Watch for speed traps...

Oh man, thanks for that pic, Gary.

I haven't been up to Mt Desert Island for several years now. That picture just hit me deep down, in the pit of my stomach.

Acadia is a magic place for me. One with very special significance, to me, and I have been ignoring it too long.

It is now inserted into this summer's ride agenda...

Thanks again, man.

BTW - skip the auto ride and make the hike up, if you are physically able, and have the time to do it. It is the best day hike on the east coast in terms of reward vs. effort.

Thanks, guys!

We finally made it through NYC today and are comfortably in Riverhead, NY. I talked to TheAxeman this evening and he offered yet more suggestions for routes. We're going to take a day ride tomorrow and hopefully Chriss will be able to meet up with us.

<sigh> The cooling fan did kick on, but we were in some serious stop 'n go crap on the Belt Parkway today. Ugh.

Ionbeam suggested the same thing. That's on the list. As long as weather cooperates, we're there!

So Geek. We get no photos until you get home?

Fercryingoutloud, you're a geek! I'd have thought you could be uploading them while you ride.

I need a real-time fix. Please work on that.

...and do they still have a big motorcycle get-together in Laconia every year?

Almost got beat up there in '74.

<sigh> To tease, or not to tease...

Mrs. BG and I have 3 digital cameras with us and no way to push pics to the laptop. Thought I had a USB adapter mahoogy or 2 with me but I've managed to lose 3 of the damn things. Don't fret, Old Fooker, we have a plan (sorta) 'cause my dad wants to send pics to my step mom. We should get something figgered out soon, but there's no way I can do a real-time ride report. Hats off to those who can.

Anyway, I hope to be able to toss up some tease pics in the next couple of days. Hell, we're on the road for about another week. MANY pics yet to be taken!

Good God but I hate to hear a grown man whine.

We had an awesome day today. Went to Greenport, Orient Point, Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, Montauk... The Axman took basically his whole afternoon off to show us around, and boy did he ever! Chriss - thanks again. We truly appreciate it!

We have reservations to hop on the ferry tomorrow morning to take us to Connecticut. I talked to Charlie a little bit ago. I hope we can meet up with him - he's got a ton of ideas for places to ride!

Ride safe,

BG

We now know where we're going tomorrow.

We're heading to Portsmouth, NH.

My dad could use a light day on the road, and the group all has some laundry to do.

The ferry should hit Connecticut by 11:00 tomorrow morning. We should be in Portsmouth by 3:00 or so.

If anyone is in the area and would like to meet up, we're all for that!

Ride safe,

BG

Made it to Portsmouth safe and sound. We hit just a little bit of rain but now it's clear, sunny and warm!

I thought I heard you go by. I'm about 20 miles south in Newburyport, MA. Beatiful day for a ride. Too bad my miles today were back and forth to work. Hope you enjoy Portsmouth., Its a beautiful little city with some good food joints and watering holes. Try Jumpin' Jays if you like seafood. Some good brews at the Portsmouth Brewery right downtown.

We did hit a little bit of rain, but we got through it and the weather was beautiful.

And, as luck has it, we had dinner at the Portsmouth Brewery!

Remember - riding to work is better than not riding at all!

Tomorrow is Bah Hahbah.

Ride safe,

BG

Looks like the rain gear may get a workout today. Hope you stay ahead of the front. Looks like you just might beat it up there (rain in the forecast tonight)
No need for rain gear today. It was perfect riding weather.

We made it from Portsmouth, NH, to Bar Harbor with no problems. The weather for Cadillac Mountain couldn't have been better. It was crisp and clear and the scenery was amazing. We took lots of pictures - hopefully they come out OK.

We're currently in Bangor and will head to North Conway, NH, tomorrow, via Weld, ME, and Lynchville, ME. After today we could all use a lighter riding day.

Ride safe,

BG

We made it to North Conway. Wow what a beautiful area!

I talked to Charlie today. He recommended some sights to see, so Mrs. BG and I are off be all touristy and ****.

Ride safe,

BG

Did you happen to find Hurricane Mountain Rd? (Intervale, NH) May want to leave Mrs BG behind for that one- unless you want a few pokes to the ribs. If you have time seek out Dixville and Grafton notches. Both sweet rides. Evans notch and Bear Notch(off the Kangamangus) both fun also. I alspo enjoy Rt 16 north from Jackson to Mt Washington. Beautiful area up there- you can't go wrong!

Enjoy!
