are you going up as a groupe ? ,do you guys buy a day pass or just hope the ranger dosent write you up,have been there many times and have had ranger tell us next time buy a @$%* pass or I'll start writing you motorcycle people a ticket . just wanted to know as I'am planning to go up and see all the fjr people :dntknw:
Grandpa? Then you may qualify, if over 62, to buy a Golden Age Pass at the National Parks sites or online. It will cost you $10 and will be good for any pass requirements on Mt. St. Helens. For all you other dudes, you need to buy a pass for the day or the year, just in case the Ranger is writing tickets that day. ( I have never seen a ticket written, but there is always a first time, especially with every gov. department going in the red.)
Some news regarding FR 90 from Cougar to Curly Creek Rd. I was talking to a Skamania County Sherrif last week end, while at McClellum view point and he said that the Forest Service is near handing over FR 90 from Cougar to Curly Creek Rd. o the county, at which time Skamania Co. will have to improve it. He said that when that happens (a few years in the works I'm sure) those losy patches done a few years ago along Swift Res. will be fixed. This is good news, except for the number of tickets that will also follow.
