ULEWZ. there are some steep hills between you and Sparks, and that's an awfully heavy load for a Chevy. Do you have a neighbor who'll lend you his FORD?

No, he is jealous of my Chevy. It has a tow package on it (heavy duty radiator and transmission cooler), so I should be fine. I have two other chevy's to go with the truck you Chevy dis-likerer. A C6 Vette, and a POS Volt.

The FJR has new tires, the truck and FJR are washed, bike is loaded, and GPS directions are also loaded. Just need to pack now. Is it Thursday yet?

Wow, your Feejeer should get really good mileage with that set up. Which way are you coming up? You a/c will be your best friend on the way north.
Coming from the South, the San Fernando Valley (north of LA). Probably take the 405/5 to the 99 to the 80.
Ulewz,

Why not 14 to 395? A bit more scenic in my opinion. At least do yourself a favor and stay off of 99. Stay on 5.

Also, once you get north of Grapevine you can stop putting "the" in front of everything. Up here it's just 80.

The riding is the fun part. Slabbing it in a truck is just transportation. More gas stops and restaurants on 99 or 5 (did I do that right?). The 5 always seems to have mucho traffic, but maybe there is construction or something? Nothing is in concrete, so I may change the route. Which route has less heat and less elevation changes (it is a Chevy don't you know)?

Do you know what Ford said to GM?

I Don't Recall

Bummer guys and gals...........

A few of the southern passes will be closed this weekend for an annual bicycle ride called the Death Ride. They ride to the summit of five passes in one day. Ebbets &Monitor will be closed.

You'll need to visit DeathRide.com to see their plans. Click the Route tab and review it, ( I can't get the info to copy and paste ) it may affect your riding plans ?

Dave, a big thanks for the information. Looks like Saturday is the only day effected so we will plan accordingly. At least monitor will be open by noon.

Don't even get me started about closing public roads for non road tax paying bicycles and the danger the present to the motoring public on our narrow mountain roads. This means we will have to keep an eye out for them anywhere south of Tahoe.

Now that was a funny one. I really don't have a manufacturer preference, but just happen to have 3 Chevy's right now. Now lets talk Vette Vs Mustang.

Know what the Mustang said to the Vette?

Nothing, he could not catch him.

Maybe I'll head for Lassen.
Well it's of only part of Saturday so with some smart route planning those passes can still be ridden Saturday. Plus we still have all the tasty roads like 49, 89, Bucks Lake, LaPorte and Lassen for Saturday with out the bicycles. Plenty of places to ride in all directions that get us up in elevation.

Well, at least Beemerdons and I won't be the only ones wearing skin-tight spandex.
I was thinking about loitering with FJR folks up there on Saturday, but not if I have to see that.

Hey Brian,

I'm heading out on Wednesday morning. I wanted to get there a day early. I got to cut it short, my daughter's Pole Dance show is on Saturday evening - can't miss that.

Give me a call if you want to ride up with me.

Brodie

Yo Mick, when did Rich become so finicky? Aye, never bothered him before! Hell's Bell's, Niehart never complains about our spandex: NEVER! JSNS!

For those of you correctly believing GPS es el Trabajo del Diablo (the Work of the Devil!), here is a MAP of the location of Western Village Inn and Casino.

Just North of Interstate 80 (Bokerfork, are you happy with this?), at exit Number 19. Anyone that uses GPS couldn't have had much of a Mother! JSNS!

I'm under way. First 100 miles, stopping for breakfast. Got an early start, supposed to be in the high 90s all the way. Don, they aren't any whaling ships in the hotel pool are there?
