It's a buffet. Iggy mentioned that he could talk to the Hilton folks and have some food set aside for the SS1K and Big Dog folks who might be rolling in late. Sheesh, you people worry too much. If you win a door prize, chances are you've basically won your ticket cost back anyway, so quit 'cher bitchin.
I ain't bitchin, just state'n my druthers. I'm in a happy mood :)

Just wanna be there in time for everything I paid for, the space, the time, the food, just wanna be there.

B)

Can people scheduled in my group chime in with their thoughts?
I'm all for moving on down the road at a pace that puts us back in time for dinner. I don't think I'm setting the pace for our group though. If our out-of-area friends would like less blur to the view the two up's could leave earlier or just change our route. Darkthirty means we stay cooler longer!

Lean in now...

In a whisper...

We could even ride some of the double top secret areas between hwy 88 and hwy 4. Don't tell those solo riders though; they'll try to contaminate us with adrenaline, testosterone and angst! :dribble:

Well its only 383 miles so no fuel stops are needed, I carry 6 liters of water on my bike and a long lunch should take about 20 min.

If the 7:20 is correct and Group 1 leaves at 06:30 that puts us back at 14:10.

:p

A quick guestimate would put this ride at around 10 hours, if the breaks except lunch are not too long. You guys will make it back in time if you leave early.

We don't want anybody to be pushing for a faster time. One miscalculation could mean a very somber buffet. If you're concerned about time, I would strongly urge you to consider turning around at Dardanelle's. You'd get to ride Sonora pass (Historical site of the now World Famous Greg M's slam dunk of his own body) in both directions which, I can say from extensive experience is a serious HOOT, and be back in time to be clean and a bit drunk in the early line to hang on the feedbag. I didn't buy in Friday, so I'm in no hurry to get back. Any number of riders could turn around in any group and find their way back to 395 North. The Hilton is a very imposing part of the skyline, it can't be missed. Think it over. If some that don't know the way want to continue, they could just hang at Dard's, then join a group behind for the rest of the journey.

Remember too, a couple of pages ago ( ) we got word that showing up a few minutes late (maybe as much as an hour, so 8:00 PM) would allow us to still be fed.
Yebbutt, the dinner time is set by the kitchen staff...dinner is ready when THEY say dinner is ready. :D

Just wanna be there in time for everything I paid for, the space, the time, the food, just wanna be there.
No problem, you guys should make it. You could always pass on the early Tahoe route...that'd save about an hour. Just head South to West on 88 to L. on 89 thru Markleeville then ride over Monitor to Hwy 395 South. Gas in Walker and head up 108.

One miscalculation could mean a very somber buffet.
BTDT, hospital food for lunch really sucks.

Anyone check the weather yet?High of 82 on fri. and 75 on sat. :yahoo:
Just because you read it on "the net" doesn't make it true.

Yahoo has it predicted @ 94, which is still pretty good.....a lot better than the 103 it has been.

The earlier the better for us! Would prefer to get out there in the cool of the morning and do the whole route, but also cool if others would prefer an abbreviated ride.

Some of this will be discussed on Wed. night. I'll bet you could find a group who is willing to leave at "0" dark thirty....I'm thinking 0500 or soon after. You guys present at that discussion can decide what you want to do. As an early riser (0300 West Coast time) that would work for me--if I was riding. There will be others of the same mindset.

Glad I'm in Rogue's group...

Cap'n "Big Tank" Rogue, we might need a mid flight refueling... :D
