What does "Excellent Condition" really mean?

believe it or not, there are people who do not understand how travel costs time and money and fuel. That doesn't matter for them. God Bless the idiots, someone needs to take care of them. Hopefully other idiots with money will. (probably do already)
Those are the people who'll drive all the way across town and back to save a nickle a gallon on 15 gallons of fuel.

UPDATE :
Bike #2, above.

This guy has been ringing my phone off the hook and leaving me voicemail and text messages. Thank-you, the inventor of caller ID !

It seems that he's "tired of dealing with craigslist idiots" and is willing to reduce the price of the bike if I have "cash".

Wow.

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled program.
It sounds like he actually believes his bike is in virtually showroom condition. Let him know the list of issues you have with the bike and he should stop calling.

The reality is that when someone tries to sell something in 'excellent' condition is simply means that Excellent = Expensive.

I blame it on our educational system.

Many people have no idea what the definition is of "excellent" or many other words.

Literally.

There are two things I won't buy used. Guns and motorcycles. You never know what they've been through.
A lot of folks don't ride their bikes a lot or they have multiple bikes so many bikes have low miles.

If you have doubt have the compression checked at a shop, otherwise you miss out on a lot of great bike deals since they depreciate so much. A low mileage one a couple years old is a bargain.

For example I bought my 2008 FJR 2 years ago with only 2,900 miles, thing looked brand new and I saved about $6,000 off a new one!

The assholeness of people never ceases to amaze me. Losers will lie about anything, and are so used to dealing with suckers, they think we are all stupid.

One of the most valuable things my mom ever taught us was this: "Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see." Especially, in my job, that is VERY relevant. I use it daily when dealing with people...and then she wonders why I'm a cynical *******. Haha...

It only takes one sucker to get a higher price for something than it's really worth. Patience and persistence is how they do it. They don't care how many honest people they inconvenience.
