Found it interesting that certain mods are done on a regular basis. Some just to find a personal preference or size. Wondering about percentages. Here are a few mods. I am sure there are more.

My '05 came mostly stock except for bar risers but since then I've added a bigger windshield, peg lowering brackets (I'm tall so all of these help). OEM cans remain as I love the quiet and the seat is original as my saddle time is limited to commuting these days so it works fine. That may change this spring/summer as I plan on actually getting out of town for some weekend trips.

Regards,

Mr. BR

Made my own out of old inner tube.

Helped stop the grip slipping closed with my weedy grip and the Yamaha '06 mega-strength throttle spring.

Well I was more interested in percentages than discussion.

For example the windshield voting already surprises me. The stock windshield works perfect for me. I am surprised so many people have to change to an after market.

Try riding in the cold and rain a few times. Also, the shield is horrible when fully up. Far too vertical, which creates turbulence, unless you are a midget.

That's why I came up with my angle tuning spacers, which means you need more height just to get the same amount of body coverage

Another (maybe better) way to do the poll would have been to create four questions listing 10 possible farkles per question, and allow people to pick multiple answers. That would have allowed 36 possibilities vs 4. 36 because you'd waste one answer for "none of the above" per question.

On my last bike, factory seat, bar position, screen, and peg position was perfect. Except for a phone/gps mount, it wasn't necessary to modify anything. On this bike, shield, seat, pegs, and bars required modification.

I ran the stock windshield on my '05 until it needed replacement due to scratching and hazing. The aftermarket one is just slightly larger than the OEM.
