Things are cooling down quite a bit in this already too cool fall. I 'm sure I'll get out for some short day trips as weather permits, but my planned multi-state trips are over.

I like hearing about others' planned trips for the next riding season...here are some of my plans for 2007:

April: southeast Ohio at the Ramble

May: MO/AR riding, maybe an overnighter in SW WI

June: long weekend in SW WI maybe, maybe Virginia to get a battlefield tour from our in-house tour guide(guess I better give JimLor a call on that one)

July: National Meet? in Colorado?

August: SW WI maybe, with wifey

September: EOM - depending on whether they have it the same month as last year

-more MO/AR?

-SW WI, with wifey

October:Tennessee?

weekend day & overnight trips sprinkled in during the riding season

These are my prelim. plans. Any suggestions?

Where are you guys going next year? What are your long trip plans?

Plan? Wazzat? :dntknw: It's more funner to surprise myself with an impromptu ride to somewhere for some length of time...

March/April/May - In-state BBG. Just need a good weekend here in Washington.

June - Utah. I hear they have a little 1088 rally down there.

July - Nevada. I hear you can cover lots of miles down there.

July - WFO. Location TBD.

August - St. Louis. A little commute to St. Louis, ride around and see the country side for 11 days, back to St. Louis, eat and sleep a little, ride home.

September - A RTE in Nevada.

Well heck then, come on up to Wheaton!
I might return the favor and surprise you with a trip back to my Santa Barbara roots...
Hmmmm, ya know, one of the trips I've always dreamed about is Route 6 from here to home in Connecticut. Looks like 6 runs just south through Joliet. What time's dinner? :nyam:

Wheaton - I'm up for a Gettysburg tour in Jun - to be honest, May might be a better month - cooler. Heck, could throw in Antietam/Sharpsburg too!

Just give me a call when you expect to be in town. You like steaks, ribs, or spicy herb chicken over the grill?

Yeah I was rethinking and thinking that may would be better temperature-wise. I definitely want the full tour! Do you do any WV or Tennessee battles too? ;)

Well, WV had some "skirmishes" that I know of that we might visit.

TN had a pretty fair number of battles too. Since my vacation time is already planned for next year, I'll probably have to do this on a weekend +1 maybe so TN would be a little far to go. But PA/MD/WV would work depending on how detailed one wanted to get.

@Jim,

I can do Tennessee on my own or some other year with you (Shiloh/Chattanooga?). I am just looking for more depth and less breadth. Whatever pacing you think is fine - I would definitely enjoy. I will pm you offline or wait for your tour posting on the board.

But hey, this thread is not about Wheaton. It's about you guys...

whatcha got up your sleeve for '07?

hmm....

May- Hooterville 400 pt. I :yahoo:

July- NFO (maybe) :dntknw:

September- Hooterville 400 pt.II :yahoo:

Misc. rides in SWMO in between. :yahoo:

Jan-Feb - ride the Baja on my KLR with a traveling companion.

June - ? do the coast-to-coast US/Canada that I've been promising myself for six years. Three of us did it in '00 utilizing US 20 from Newport, Ore to Boston and the Trans-Canada but this time I'd like to stop and smell the roses in many states I haven't been in as yet.

WFO - if it works out.

Aug - tentatively plan the Alaska/Hyder thing on the KLR's.

In between I make a lot of runs to coastal BC from my home in S. Alberta - those great crooked roads "back home" keep calling me back - especially the Kootenays.

Kasey

Depending on how busy I will be next year and how much I will be able to steal :D

My grand plan would include trip to the AR, many trips to WI, I might do a run to the MotoGP in Laguna in July. And countless local runs.

I'd like to see another SW tour with WFO in the loop. Need to start scoping out areas I might want to move to. Chama, New Mexico was a nice ride, most of Cooolorado is is beautiful.. Then again, I just might head back East and collect a few beers from right coasters who have been so foolish to offer..

For my long trip (two weeks) I'm riding up to Lake George for Americade, which I attend every two years. Been riding up there (every other year) sence the early '80's. Of course I'll try to make as many FJR get togethers as I can. Also many weekend rides to southern MO and northern AR. :yahoo:

Is there a time limit for submissions? ....we don't even know where WFO is yet.... .....

I would love to plan and tell you all where I thinking of going next year (riding season) but I don't think I allow to.

I'm just going to go .... if you see me .... well I guess that is OK.
