On Topic: I am with Patriot, I was a Westco battery fan but I too have moved to MotoBatt for the Beemers and the FJR.

there's goes the neighborhood !!!

Hey Vic, if you are really moving to Arkansas let me give you a sure fire pick up line that is guaranteed to always work with the Arkansas Ladies.

The nicest compliment that you can ever give a girl from Arkansas is this one: "Nice Tooth!" jes' sayin' and nuff' said!

bulldinkee, across the River from New Orleans is Chalmette where the instrument you swoosh inside your mouth was invented...it's true...anywhere else it would have been named a "teethbrush"

Have a 09 Gen ll with original battery.

Battery Tender on December-January all the time(holidays),

and in between when I know it will seat for more than a week.

I've always used this as a rule of thumb,

new helmet every five years + new battery.

Good Luck

Three bikes, a 2005, 2007 and the 2008 fjr. All on original batteries. All strong. All on tenders most of the time in winter. But at the first sign of a slow start, out they will go. One thing from reading alot of these posts is the nasty habit of turning off the bike with the kill switch and then forgetting to turn the key off. Nasty habit. Besides leaving you stranded at times, it is hell on batteries.

I never use the kill switch, Ever. I just have to go into the glove box at the last minute and just ******* forget to take the key out.

'07 w/ 64+k miles, still with the original battery. Never, ever been on a battery tender even when sitting 2-3 months for the winter. Never been disconnected except when I wired in a powerlet socket. Never had to jump/push start it yet. Bought a new battery last winter figuring the OEM would crap out but it still keeps going and going and going, starting just fine in <40*F temps.

My '06 AE has the original battery. Never on a float. Sat for months on end in my semi heated garage. Starts right up (so far....).
