Friggin winter has hit the north coast of Ohio...Oh well, no bike to ride until March anyway...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...now where's my ski's?

We got about 2 inches of snow and it's getting pretty cold and windy here. I guess we've been pretty lucky with the mild winter up to this point, maybe it will be short lived.

Don't look now, but you live in Ohio which is known for flat boring straight roads, and even flatter skiing.

I'm not talking about Boston Mills...Holiday Valley is only 3hrs away...and Ellicottville has a great brewery.

About a foot of snow. Temps this morning about -30C with the windchill

The main east-west bridge on the Trans-Canada Hwy near Nipigon split in two because of the cold.

"How cold is it?"

"Cold enough to split a bridge in two!"

Down here a couple loads of hot patch would smooth that mismatch right up...

:)

Still winter here in the Banana Belt of South Dakota. 32f and 25 mph breeze. Even the dogs don't want to stay out too long.

Heck, in Illinois, they just leave it that way. I have seen potholes around here that have a bigger edge than that little buckle on the bridge

It's only a problem going thataway. Coming thisaway it's fine. Just throw one of the big, thick steel plates on it, it'll be fine.

Oh sure, if this was a road, I'd say wow that's weird, but let's just let goober throw some patch on it and be done.

However, before you do anything on a permanent basis, you need to know why it happened...cuz it's a brand fooking new bridge, and it ain't supposed be doin that.

Somebody is in trouble for miscalculating the coefficient of expansion (or contraction). Probably an engineer from Miami.

Let's ask blame Wheaton.

The problem with the bridge, I mean besides the first step being a doozy, is the gap. Theirs and 8 foot span in front of that with nothing but air.

Strictly a 'Hold my beer' jump.

First snowfall of the year here. Which meant it was my first commute into the office from the new (to us) house in the snow. Which kinda sucked.

There are a couple of inches of snow down with more coming.

At least that'll be good for the ski 'resorts' in the area.
