There is a reason they're so much more expensive, . . . and worth every extra dollar.
So if BMW made snow blowers they'd be .......
In flames?
Twice the price of a Honda?

In the dealer's shop 'til August awaiting shear pins from the fatherland?

Available, at extra cost, with an upgraded paint scheme?

One of Line's girlfriends bought a 42" snow blower after thier old snow blower **** the bed.

Looks like it might be mine soon. Their shed door is only 36" :D

Knocking vigorously on wood, I've been running a "Yard Machine by MTD", Home Despot (low budget) snowblower for the past 19 years with nary a problem. Let's just say that old Yard Machine doesn't owe me a thing! ;)

Sounds like ours. Viking (Eatons... like Sears in Canada) brand, about 25 years old. I've replaced the cabling for the clutch and thrower with some parts from the hardware store. Otherwise, damn thing just keeps working. Starts first pull every time. Damn thing.

Oh! I even changed the oil on it.

Is oil supposed to be chunky?

Anyway, it just keeps on going...

Heh... everything devolves to become an oil thread eventually. ;)

When I first bought the Yard Machine blower I took the crappy single weight oil they give you with it and used it for bar oil on the Husky chain saw. Filled the engine with Rotella T synthetic 5W40 and have never changed it since then, nor needed to add a drop. The oil is still clear and oil colored (not black) on the dipstick. I've done pretty much the same thing with my other yard power tools (John Deere mower, Honda powered Pressure Washer and Generac Generator) and they all have fared pretty damn well. I do change the oil in the JD lawn tractor every 100 hours or so.
