-19F on my way into work this morning. At least the wind died down a little from yesterday. Amazing phenomenon, one that I remember from childhood. Cold enough the last couple days that when you're outside, and spit onto pavement or snow, the spit balls up and rolls by the time it hits anything, like Jello. That means it's cold.

Although, in the mid 1950s, my dad was in the Navy, and spent 3 winter months at a weather station at Point Barrow. We would ***** about the cold as kids, and he'd say, "No, it's not cold outside".

60F in Pueblo CO, near that in Denver, Cheyenne was 40f and 35+mph wind, started raining in Wheatland WY and snowing in Guernsey. Now Blizzarding in Lusk WY where I am holed up for the night only 90 mikes from home

Cold enough I was getting icing inside my helmet this morning. I felt like the scene from Iron Man where he went too high and his face mask malfunctioned and systems started failing.

7 degrees this morning...with a high of 17 today

How come easterners get to have named winter storms and us in the rockies and UP in da nort country get treated like we don't exist?

Been snowblowing almost every day. This morning we got to enjoy a 30 mph crosswind driving across the desert on sheet ice covered by windblown snow and drifts. Only a few slide offs on the way to work but no roll overs.

Winter is fun!
