Forgot more recent ones.

Archer (technically a comedy in different situations)

Louis (with Louis C. K. - I just found this in spite of it having been around since 2010.)

They are all good and I have enjoyed them immensely.

I voted for M.A.S.H. Not because it was the funniest or had the prettiest girls.

It is the show that touched me the most. It has made me laugh and cry at the same time.

Thanks Bounce for bringing up something contemporary. The classics were great, but todays sit coms continue to push the limits of politcal correctness. I enjoy just about all the comedys on the FX network. Archer rocks, #1 on my list.

If your willing to push the limits of just plain common decency in a comedic way, I strongly recommend "Shameless" on ShowTime.........

Family Guy and American Dad, great with my morning coffee

Classic sitcom? Honeymooners...hands down!

Current...Modern Family (PG) and Episodes ®. These are very well written imho.

Red Dwaft
...and I never thought of Firefly as a Sitcom. But good it was.
Nice choice, Smeghead! I wouldn't call Firefly a Sitcom, either, but it DID have lots of comedy, based on episodic situations.

Best "Firefly" episodes? "War Stories", "Out of Gas" and "Objects in Space".

Best Red Dwarf ever? "Backwards".

I voted for Taxi but remember... My Favorite Martian... The Addams Family... Courtship of Eddie's Father... F Troop... Are You Being Served?... Cheers... Dream On (HBO)... The Mary Tyler Moore Show... Arli$$ (HBO)... The Bob Newhart Show... The Odd Couple... The **** Van **** Show...

Geez, I'm old...

WTF TBBT (The Big Bang Theory) hands down. In fact, if IONBEAM would simply youtube a few episodes of these nerds, he'd find new reasons for watching TV again. I suspect it's right up his alley.

Alan is a proponent of Loop Quantum Gravity but Sheldon is a String Theorist and therefore would piss Alan off.

We do agree on one thing...

I used to enjoy sitcoms and many of the ones listed in the survey and especially the ones added by the rest of the posters have brought back some good memories. My dad loved sitcoms and the family would sit in front of our black and white console for an hour or two on winter evenings and laugh at the silly stuff.

I don't enjoy any of the newer ones and haven't for many years. The only thing I watch these days is old movies and sports.

I voted for 'All in the Family' because that is the only one I can think of that I might still enjoy today. And Sally Struthers was HOT back then.

I've watched and enjoyed most of the ones mentioned. Favorite of all time? "Married with Children".

Al Bundy has been and will always be, My Hero! I still watch them today. The forth of July BBQ episode

where they ate hamburgers made with Marcy's moms ashes in them and Al was banging on Peggy's Booty

Every hour on the hour is CLASSIC! I'll never get tired of that show. "Hot" is a subjective but, Peggy was HOT!!! :))
