I voted #10. I've not worked a daytime job since 1988 so I have no idea what's been on. And I wasn't much of a tv person before that. Being on a sub in the Navy kinda contributed to that. I usually just get some news and/or sports info, maybe some weather, then turn it off. There's a reason it's called a **** tube....

I've also noticed for the last decade or so when in grocery store lines that I have no idea who the People people are. Nor do I care.

I voted for MASH, but as a brit the funniest comedy has to be "only fools and horses". The end of the Christmas special where they tried to pass themselves off as chandelier cleaners ranks as the funniest moment in television.

It's very dry humor. If you know a lot of them, you eventually get it. It takes a while though. :)
Yes, it is an acquired taste but some of my all-time favorite funny stuff comes from the UK like Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Rowan Atkinson, the Pythons...

Since we're going UK, no one has mentioned Top Gear...not exactly a sitcom in the traditional sense, it's the one show that has me in stitches all the time...

They (NBC I think it was) tried to remake Coupling in a US/PC setting, but it didn't work !! Since I work with computers I can certainly relate to The IT Crowd. I doubt there will be more seasons of the IT Crowd since Chris O'Dowd has made it to the big leagues (Bridesmaids etc) !!

Seinfeld, hands down. Best cast and best storylines ever. I don't think I can go a week without making a Seinfeld reference or quote.

Benny Hill was on reruns when I was a teenager. I told my parents it was hilarious, but I really just watched to see the occasional flash of a ****!
