Was today a rest day or did Wheatie forget to turn on his SPOT?
Sssh! Super Secret roads!

I took the day off and forgot to give Wheatie the spot.

Found myself zoneing out a couple of times yesterday and since I've ridden this area a few times in the past, seemed like a good time to take a break.

Sounds like a wise decision to me! Still more fun to be had tomorrow, glad you are resting up! :)

See you on Wednesday for dinner.

Looking forward to it.

All you folks are turning a good time into a Great Time.

Really can't thank you all enough, and I know Mark feels the same way.

Yes I do. Another full day today riding with new found friends. Plugged my rear tire today...a couple of times. I am no longer a plugger virgin...not a master plugger like george/escape...but I got my first cherry today. First attempt failed ina a turn. That was interesting. Used the double plug...that did it.

I just got home from riding with the rolling cluster f@#k for a few days. Had a great time trashing tires and all was good until Mark made me tip my bike over. I'll let him explain it to the class

Ray dumped his bike...because I wanted him in a group picture. Aren't you glad Ray? :)

140 mile sign on 36. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rashed sidecase and the bent light mount are worth the price of admission. I should have had you autograph the damage like I wanted. :D :p I had a great time and wish you weren't getting wet down there. Be safe and get pictures up when you get home.

In an hour Wheatie's gonna come and drag me kicking and screaming outta here and head back to the land of straight and flat. Well that's what I get for traveling with a responsible adult.

This is the most fun ride in recent memory, can't thank all the people involved enough, absolutely marvelous.

Karl, I think I can speak for the left coasters and say that we had as much fun joining the Wheatie- Airboss tour as you guys did. I was able to meet some forum members, see some familiar faces and just have fun riding .Even the rain ride was fun.

It is amazing how Wheatie asking for a few routes out here turned into this wonderful traveling get together. This forum rocks. Have a nice uneventful ride home and we expect Wheaties detailed report by Monday

Gunny to all of that, Doug. Twas a great time, guys!!!

You guys have a safe and pleasant ride home. Whilst you're traveling today, my bike is in the garage sans wheels and awaiting more TLC -- front PR2 is mounted on wheel, rear wheel on tire changer awaiting the mounting of PR2 B spec. (Followed by changing brake pads and greasing of drive shaft splines and U-joint.)

I see from their SPOT link that the boys from IL are off for home. You two have happy trails and a safe journey back home.

Thanks for coming out to see the motley crew here in California, and thanks for bringing us all together in various parts of the state so we could all party together, it was a weekend of great memories to be part of your California adventure this past weekend.

You guys, come back sometime soon - ya hear?

Posted in post #706 in the other thread, this is probability a better place.

Enjoyed riding with you yesterday. Be safe on the return trip and enjoy Hwy 50. If you choose to use US 40 rather than I-70 on the return trip, just take US 6 out of Delta and diagonal up to US 40 on Hwy 191. According to Google Maps, the distance is a wash. I think you'll find US40 moves pretty well and is much more scenic than I-70.

+1

Anyone know why wheatie & airboss are not moving today ?
I noticed that Karl didn't turn off the Spot overnight. Mark told me last night they were going to leave about 4am CDT this morning to get back to the flatlands. Maybe they're travelling covertly today!! Hopefully the bad weather will be over by the time they get to central IL. Pretty nasty right now.

I'm betting that Karl's Spot battery gave it up around the time they were scheduled to leave this morning.

BTW, anyone know why the SpotWalla depicted locations of the Spot Tracker wander all over the parking lot when stopped for the night and left on?

PE (Positional Error). It's only noticeable on a stationary target over a long period of time.
Thanks -- I guessed something like that, but appreciate the confirmation.

BTW, it looks like Karl has got the Spot running again - around Des Moines, Iowa. I'm betting he bought batteries in Adair, Iowa. B)

I'm back home...left Karl at the I-80 Truck stop about 7 something tonight. Got home few minutes before 10pm local time. Karl left the spot on last night...and turned it off this morning. Talked to Louanne today and let us know about the spot...evidently she checks those things. ;) So Karl turned it on when we were Iowa.

This Kali trip was GREAT. :yahoo:

Ride report soon...will post a couple pictures tommorrow just to get things started.

Post up when you get home Karl.

I got the home email from Karl about 9:45. Glad you're home safe. Didn't see any 94 mph segments today though. :p
