An appointment qualifies as volunteering? Just so I understand the rules! :dntknw:
Sorry if I misunderstood your raising your hand in the air as volunteering. :D

From all the nuclear blast images popping up on the other FJR site, you seem to have a certain reputation that precedes you... ;)

Don't worry, there will be enough riding, campfires, and beers consumed to make it a great weekend. :)

What do you think, BadCat Burk? Meet in Oklahoma City, spend the night (not together, of course!), and continue on to NC in time for cocktail hour by the campfire with Mark?
So pinhead...you comin? Or do you need permission from BadCat?

C'mon down Dave! :clapping:

Wheatie... We are going to take up a collection at the Death Valley Days event next week to see if we can get sufficient funds to buy Old Michael a bus ticket to come back for the get together.... Do you think he could ride pillion with you and snuggle in your tent? He is tired of all these California roads and needs some flatland to keep him balanced...

Dr. Rich, are you drinking again? Beemerdon's a bad influence I see.

Thanks for thinking of me, but my son or my wife are my only pillions. I like riding alone anyway. Looks like you and Don are gonna have to dig a little deeper and pony up the full fare to pay Old Michael to take his FJR cross country to the Appalacians of North Carolina to this camping shindig. BTW, not too much flatland where this thing us gonna be.

Tell him to bring his camera, his beer, and some wit.

Prolly can't do the camping gig if he's coming to CFR

Why not? He rides the Appalacians on the way up...stays over at your place, has a few drinks, does a side trip to Nova Scotia, maybe another to Newfie land, then hits CFR on the way back.

Done. :clapping:

Better yet, you could come down here in May, and "escort" him back up.

Edit: There will be other Canadians here as well, so you won't have to worry about not speaking the language. :D

I could, indeed. I'm still talking about how I'd like to TRY camping ! BUT .... what about the NE Clam Chowdah Run?! IT's in May - isn't it ?!

You wouldn't even have to camp, or fix yer own food. You could stay in one of the cabins, and eat what the camp cook fixes up for breakfast and dinner, like I'm going to do.

Easy-peasy.

Yer missin' The Point, Wheatster. I WANT to sleep in a tent. To see if I've been missing something.

But, you make a compelling argument for the Appalachian ride :D

I'm sure there are those that will volunteer their tent. ;)

But if that thought gives you the cold shivers, bring yer own! You'll be in a beautiful area with twisty roads all around you.

...and campfires every night! :clapping:

Where would the volunteer(s) sleep ?!

I rode that area in October. Fabulous. And I know I've DEFINITELY been missing out on campfires...

I was talking to a local guy about this camping meet and invited him down. I'm pretty sure he's going to come along. I figure just for the sheer entertainment of watching his Kawi 1700 disappear in everybodies rear view mirrors he'd be welcome.

I will put your Kawi buddy on the list.

But only cuz he's Canadian...and your friend.

We don't need too many of those Kawi 1700s showing up...we need those roads free and clear. :D

Hey, bring him down! I'll be glad to have someone slower than me!

I just putt, altho "putting" on a FJR is a little more spirited than others...

I just commented that I like big fires!

None of those jokers have even seen one of my campfires! :devilsmiley:

I am really looking forward to this. Still don't have a definite from the wife, but it is on my schedule. Is it May yet? :cold:

Howdy Mark, been off here for awhile. Just seeing the post. I won't be making this trip. It's too far for a weekend. Me just starting a new job, I have no vacation.

Ya'll are gonna have fun, tho.

Don't ask permission...just beg forgiveness if neccesary. :D

Call it mental health days...
Not a problem. I have already made it clear I am going. She just has to make up her mind and schedule. The bike is definitely much needed therapy!

Hey Heidi,

It won't be the same without you and your cooler! I hope all is going well with the new job!
