Where is NAFO 2014?

Mi querido Amigo Ignacio, I'm going on a ride Sunday morning with your illegitimate ******* cousin (el Primo) SkooterG; I'll float the idea to "Sire Crash-A-Lot" about our hosting NAFO 2014, since we're both fully retired and totally worthless we have the time for this job!
When I wrote my last thing...in the back of my mind I was actually thinking that somebody like Beemerdons is slightly insane, is still in therapy, and also doesn't know any better. He seems to possess a multitude of the afflictions/qualities that it would take to lead a NAFO.

As for checking in with Skooter....just to remind you that his job title at the last WFO or NAFO was "Professional Fluffer". I don't know if that's a knock on him or an endorsement......but just go in to the conversation with your eyes open...and wear a cup. Good luck Sunday on the discussions. ;)

As tradition has been with the hosting group (CFR folks this year) to facilitate this kind of discussion...I'd encourage you to talk with FJRGuy as he heals up or maybe FastJoyRide to come to consensus. I don't want to step on their toes.

Or if the regional event leaders (including CFR/NAFO 2012) want to get together and talk about it I can setup a discussion area on the forum.
Iggy, we'll talk to the Canadians but we won't hold their hands. Just spent 10 days in Germany, Italy and Austria with Canuckistanis; kept my wallet in my front pocket entire time and slept wearing 3 pairs of Levis on. Wheatie's right about the Hosers, eh!

THEY CANCELLED NAFO.
Is it possible that Wheatie is blaming the Canadians for killing NAFO? :p
it's possible. after all they've blamed him for being being human. and we all know that ain't true.
Since we have a superior educational system here in Canada (we can actually find places on a map except for Bungie who is an immigrant anyways) we are all aware that WheatonFJR does not even qualify as a carbon based life form.

Ohhhh This is gettin good!!

Who's going to declare war on whom?

Hey all, FJRguy here convalescing poolside in the beautiful Okanagan valley. I'd say we should pick a central location to meet up to discuss the topic, but I'm currently without an LD machine. :-( (or the ability to ride either of my other bikes.)

There was defininitly talk about the lack of discussion about the next NAFO. IIRC, Rick did express the possibility of CFO stepping to the plate. While their rally numbers have traditionally been smaller than some other Regions, they definitely have the potential for a Kick-Ass NAFO.

... But let the discussion continue.

The WFO staff - who basically invented FJR rallies (of scale) in the Americas, and who took on running the first NAFO - invited reps from all of the other rallies who were there, to a brief roundtable in Golden during that first NAFO. CFR was then in its infancy, and on behalf of our rally I kindly offered our support to any others who wanted to plan an (inter)national rally for 2010 - Canada was just not ready. As I recall, EOM jumped right in, and as the organizers of the second biggest FJR regional rally at that time, they were frankly the logical choice to put on NAFO 2010.

Jeff (FJRGuy) started to lobby for NAFO 2012 shortly after we wound up CFR 2009 in Nakusp - of which rally he was a major part of its success. I, and others, were quick to offer our help and support to Jeff. He attended NAFO 2010 and shortly after was announced as the RallyMaster for NAFO 2012 - location TBA. I think Jeff did a great job this year, if on a much more modest scale than Golden for instance. We were thrilled again by the overwhelming support of our brethren and sistren from across both Canada and the US.

The world has changed a lot since the first WFO rally that I attended in 2004, and the recession and other changes may have changed the landscape for big FJR rallies (and their organizers) permanently - or not, just my 2 cents.

I will boldly promise on behalf of all your Canuckistanian friends, that we will enthusiastically support the hell out of whomever does decide to throw their hat in the ring and take NAFO 2014 on. Whether it's run by the organizers of CFO or SWFOG or WFO or EOM, or even by BeemerDonS and Skooty, is not nearly as important IMO, as that it be run by a small group with the enthusiasm, time, and thick skins to take this on and to make it happen. If there is one thing that the CFR organizers believe in our heart of hearts, it is that you must plan these rallies way out in advance and get your dates released in time so that the FJR keeners who still work for a living (poor *******s) have enough time to bid for the vacation time they will need. With NAFO and the substantial distances/time involved for many/most attendees, that becomes even more critical.

Thanks for starting this Heidi - I'm looking forward to seeing who has the passion to tackle this next!

Stellar! This is the attitude that NAFO was born of and wholeheartedly agree. :clapping:

I must be insane for this but yes as chief cook and bottle washer of CFO for the last few years I'm willing to do NAFO 2014. Like Jeff pointed out our rally has been smaller than some of the others but they've had their shot at NAFO now. We've established a great relationship with our hotel with a great rate for the attendees and banquet facilities for up to 300, on site restaurant, bar all that one would need for a gathering like NAFO. LaCrosse is just the right size not too big that we get lost in the shuffle of bigger conventions but has all that you could want as far as food, drink and entertainment. But that's not why we go there, it's the roads. Nobody from the coasts that hasn't been there seems to think that there can possibly be great riding in Wisconsin or Minnesota much less Iowa  Don't take my word for it but ask those from outside the mid-west that have traveled to CFO like Buginator. He lives in the epicenter of great riding in North America, northern CA and he'll attest to the good roads and scenery that SW Wisconsin has to offer. Right now my life is in chaos a mid life career change including school, internship and beating the bushes for work at any opportunity I can find means that I haven't had the time to make CFO 2012 what it could be, but it will go on. By the first of the year I'll be done with most of my schooling and just working will seem like time off and that will fit nicely with starting on NAFO 2014.

In case you're wondering what the new career will be I'm moving into full time photography something I've been doing part time for many years. To show that my efforts have been worthwhile here's a little something moto related I did recently...
