Thanks for the local intel. I do plan on doing a scouting ride if time permits. I know the heaves can get a little crazy, but at a reasonable pace, adds to some of the fun in exercising obstacle avoidance tactics IMHO!

You have placed this ride directly in the middle of the Loudon Classic! You'd better hope Zip-Tie Alley doesn't catch wind of this madness!

;)

But seriously, depending on which races I sign up for I'll likely shoot to meet up with you sometime on Saturday.

If you go on the Daks ride then I guess I'm off the hook, eh?

I'll be lurking.

The Inn at Mt. Washington looked good, but won't mention it to my wife for this trip, CJ.

Still planning Saturday morning. That's all I have for now. Saturday night stayover a possibility for two. I can bunk anywhere but Sue's back requires a bed.

Talked to Charlie the other night. Going to head up to his garage soon to mount new Dunlop rear.

Have you thought about posting at the other site? Lots of regulars are there as well.

Sull (coastalmainedan)

Sull, since you are the first firm positive thus far, you my friend, get dibs on the master BR with the king-sized bed IF you do stay overnight with Sue! Damn, first the backrest, now top-notch accomodations. . . . . there's no way she could say "No"! ;)

There's plenty of space available for any lurkers from far away who might be tempted into the ride with cheap accomodations! Come on, let's ride! If you've never ridden the Auto Road of Mt Washington, you're missing out!

Thanks for the tip on this, Sullivan.

Gentlemen, I've put this on my calendar, so will try and make it!

Shhaa-weeet! Put the kids in the side bags, put the backrest on for the wife, and come enjoy some awesome riding that is uniquely New Hampshire!

And Barry, don't forget, if you think that you'll be needing/wanting to stay overnight, let me know as soon as possible so I can add you into the equation for room at my friends house (see post #1). Would be great to have you along! Would be a great way/time to practice your mad 2up skilz! Hopefully Sull will be able to convince his wife to come along too. Any questions at all, post 'em up or PM me. . . .

Things are shaping up, can't wait :yahoo: ! Plenty of room still left on this ride, so don't anyone be bashful! If anyone who is interested in the ride, wether in part or full but might not know till the last moment if you can make it, I'll be checking my message box here on the forum friday afternoon or saturday early morning, depending on how things shape up. For anyone who decides that this may be the case, PM me and I'll reply with my cell # so you can contact me to find where you could catch up with the group.

Confirming my wife joining for Saturday night stay, CJ. May do the Friday night as well. She basically jumped at the chance to be without the twins hellions.

Will work on my cousin this weekend to join in with one of his beemers.

Sull

You know the joke about the kids returning home to find the parents have moved? This is the best we can do if they are only 9.............arghhhhhhhhhhhh. Rough day. Weather turning crappy or I'd be out now, solo, for ride therapy.

Anyway, will hook up with you and we will all have a good two days riding. Western Maine and that area of NH is great but don't want to drag you too far away from home. What about some western NH, avoiding bike week, for Sunday, and then we can part ways in southern NH to make it easier on you?

I wonder if MaxBMW is open on Sundays?

Nope, Max is closed on Sundays. . . . Saturdays, 9-4. I'm willing to drive just about anywhere. I would prefer, however, to avoid the Lakes/Laconia region as recommended to me by Cota95. He's a smart guy who's judgement I trust, therefore sticking with his advice to stay away from the area if at all possible during bike week. Besides, I am not big into crowds. I'm in it for the quiet, quality riding. I have a secondary route planned of mostly less travelled two lane in rural areas as well as the more popular loops in/around the White Mountains.

I'm still being patient as it is still early to hear from any other interested parties who might be able to join up with us. If it turns out to just be the two of us, well then, we could certainly ride wherever ya like and find some new tarmac!

Yo, Zip, I see you peekin'!

The intended route is the one highlighted in yellow in Sullivan's link in previous post as well as Rt16 in blue for those wondering. Not set in stone, but figured that route would be the best one for those who haven't ridden in the White Mountains before.

Thanks, Sull!

This looks terrific, and I'm starting to really look forward to it. I have a fair bit of business travel right now, and that's the only thing that may stand in my way, but I'm otherwise in.

Where exactly is bike week happening relative to this? I was thinking of taking a few extra days after this and maybe extending the trip - perhaps a rendezvous with my wife in Quebec, heading to the Adirondacks or somewhere Down East in Maine. There're lots of places I haven't seen.

Sure hope you can make it! And do your best to get the wife to come along if at all possible, she'd have a great time. Bike week is in Laconia. The lakes region gets fairly saturated. That's part of the reason of staying further north (though you may notice not as many Harley's being towed in pickups as before and actually being ridden!).

When are you thinking you'd try to come up/what fits your schedule best? If the timing is right, perhaps we could meet somewhere along the way and ride up together.

I'm currently near Austin, TX, for another week, where it was sunny and 92 today. Take THAT, you yankee refugees!

When I get back I'll check the schedule and see about this ride. I really enjoy riding in NH and know the northern roads pretty well, as well as the roads in Maine. I'm sure Sully will keep me posted on the various NE rides.

I'll be happy to lead a ride over Hurricane Mtn Rd and back, right Ionbeam? BWAAAAAAAAAH!

Just a check in for those looking to ride and stay overnight (See post #1), so I can get an idea of who may be staying over either friday night, saturday or both. The house will NOT be available for an overnight Sunday. I'd like to know so I can get back to the owner on numbers so I can get a rental figure. If you don't know wether or not you may be attending, but if you are planning to stay overnight should you be able to make it, please let me know.

Dan, couldn't open that map, but sounds good!

Charlie- you got lead for Hurricane Mtn. Rd!

More of a story with pics, not a true map, sorry.

Watching my rear wear bars after 11k miles. Change now or after spirited De Oppresso Libre riding? Hmmmmmmmmm...

Yeah, I've got about 8k on mine, the front looks good but the rear has to get changed out. . . so far, Sull, looking to have light crowds for this ride. Any particulars you'd care to do/see? I've got to plan on taking off on Sunday around lunch time, my folks are flying in for a visit that day. Is your wife going to be able to make it?
