Toophast is a man of few words. That's why he has to wear 'em on a T-shirt!

Admittedly, I only have alot of similar shots as other folks, so won't bore ya with the repeats. ;)

"We have a traitor in our midst."
DONT TALK ABOUT KEITH LIKE THAT! OOPS
Well he WAS wearing assless chaps.

LOL I knew somebody was gonna like me parking under the awning with the Harleys. The hotel manager actually made me move my bike so I backed it in with the others. :yahoo: LMAO

If ya have the chaps you can do that kind of stuff. It was priceless to see a couple of the Harley riders had no rain gear and headed out to get soaked. Road Runner let me borrow his raingear so I could ride over to LLbean and pick some gear up. We were nice and dry for the ride back to NY with just wet boots and gloves. Thank you all for making this the best trip ever!!!!!!!!!

I love these photographs. So heartwarming to see my FJR Forum Friends having a ball with their machines and good buddies. Looks like a great time was had by all and friendships cemented forever!!!

Helen and I opted out of the Whites part of the ride, we ride the Whites on a very regular basis. We would have enjoyed connecting for lunch but our route to the Fireside Inn would have us too far away to drop in.

We chose a route through central NH and then cherry-picked some roads in NH and VT along the Connecticut River. And with that, we're off.

This is what we saw in the distance in the previous picture.

Anybody want a huge Heavy Metal Mastodon for their front yard? Classy, very classy.

I'm sure there must be a story behind this. This sign has been on this house for more than a year.

Corn, corn, corn. Everywhere corn.

Experimental corn. Though they look like political signs, each of these signs is for a different strain of corn. Anyone up to try some delicious P33F832

Just around the next bend in the river will be Lebanon, NH and the Fireside Inn. In the very near future I see a fast trip across the Fireside parking lot to the Brew Pub for lunch. That would be a 5:00 pm lunch 'cause we didn't stop along the way.

Arriving at the Fireside Inn --

Without fail, every time we have been at the Fireside Inn there have been buzzards circling overhead, often dozens of them.
IMG_5921_resize.jpg

While we were waiting for the Whites ride to return we walked over the the Brew Pub for a sandwich and on the way over I spied this Honda. At first I thought Classic 750 SOHC, mother of all inline 4s. Then I started to notice the bars are wrong, check out the mufflers (?), the steering head had a gusset welded in to rake the front end... It was a near miss at being a Classic.

The group that got separated during the ride shows up.

And the rest of the ride starts pouring in.

The food arrived, the room grew silent and the cameras quit clicking. Anybody here old enough to know who Ross Perot was and his famous quote? Giant sucking sound...

People begin to trickle off, choosing not to spend a day riding in the rain and then have to leave for home on Monday in heavy rain.
IMG_6010_resize.jpg

The rain paused enough for some parking lot talking and some toweling off.
IMG_6013_resize.jpg

Everyone wanted to go on the Greens ride but the weather was making it sound like a bad idea.
IMG_6014_resize.jpg

The Bluejags have decided to throw in the towel (so to speak) and run for dryer weather way down south in MA.

Suddenly I'm feeling kinda lonely. Nothing to do now but pack up and ride home.
IMG_6069_resize.jpg

In spite of everything we had a great weekend. We took the long way to the Fireside and enjoyed the scenery along our route. Dinner was a fun event and I got to meet a lot of new people and see some old friends. Helen and I have ridden just about all the roads that were on the Greens ride so it wasn't a total loss for us. It's too bad that Tom and Ed's hard work went for naught this year but we will be back for next year!

Although OM and his ilk intimidate the hell out of me, I'm going to throw caution to the wind and post a few of my pics while I'm having my coffee ....

Packed up and ready to roll

Lunch stop in Brewer, Maine, on Friday. This place is seriously a "must stop" spot. Rated by roadfood.com : "Overall: Worth planning a day around"

And THIS, folks, will be my only Food Porn shot since nothing for the rest of the weekend was as worthy. The poor little hotdog bun was crushed under the weight. Mark counted 5 full claws in his. Me - I was too busy tucking into it to be counting.

It was a perfect day for a ride. Some highway, Somewhere, New Hampshire

Saturday morning......what would a party be without a few crazy Canuckistanis? I invited myself to join these guys: FJRob1300 (Rob) and Bungie (Steve). They were going to do all the planned routes but at their own pace and stopping for pictures. Did ya'll hear about Steve's ride through Ottawa on their way to CFR? We had a 50/50 chance of turning the correct way out of the hotel yard. First Kodak moment was in the Home Depot parking lot which we used to reverse direction on the highway  Nice!

All for now! More when I get home from work tonight :)

You know, I can never figure out why I always get tagged as ride leader when I have the worst sense of direction EVER and on roads I've never seen in my life. Throw in a French GPS that will nearly always have me doing 3 UTurns in the first 200 feet...

Truth be told, I was trying to ditch ya'all.

Looking forward to more

HUBBA, HUBBA, HUBBA, HUBBA, HUBBA, HU.....!!!! Thank Goodness, this thread is finally turning in the right direction. Old Michael, please report to the White Courtesy Phone ASAP!!!

During our Greens/Whites ride we had a rider experience a shifting problem on the way to dinner, we summoned all of the tech gurus to investigate this problem and at first they were stumped... We've heard about AE shift problems but this was VERY different. After intense discussions we found the problem.... This rider was NOT on an AE but a Canadian prototype

that was code named the M.E. This is what we found...

FJRrideaugust2010064.jpg

This is a new RIGHT foot, LEFT shift or LEFT shift ,RIGHT foot or some combination of all the above! It may be the next big thing in Moto GP/touring After some basic re training our rider and FJR were again as one

Thanks to all who once again got to th BOTTOM of another FJR problem

Yes, there was some serious head scratching going on during dinner to resolve the dyslexic shift issue.

MEM, When I first touted the Eagle's Nest, I may have neglected to mention that all the local regulars (including me though I'm not really local) order their lobster rolls with an extra roll. Comes gratis.

And today, wouldn't you know it, I had to make a quick run to Bangah to work at EMMC. e finished up the job at ~4PM. So, I dashed over to the joint and scored 4 of their "finest kind" Lobtah rolls "to go". I am now a major hero with my family!!. Oh, and the 4 servings (8 stuffed rolls plus more meat leftover) fed everyone here and there are some leftovers.

Yumm-o... Lobtster and eggs for breakfast tomorrow.
