During our Greens/Whites ride we had a rider experience a shifting problem on the way to dinner, we summoned all of the tech gurus to investigate this problem and at first they were stumped... We've heard about AE shift problems but this was VERY different. After intense discussions we found the problem.... This rider was NOT on an AE but a Canadian prototypethat was code named the M.E. This is what we found...

This is a new RIGHT foot, LEFT shift or LEFT shift ,RIGHT foot or some combination of all the above! It may be the next big thing in Moto GP/touring After some basic re training our rider and FJR were again as one

Thanks to all who once again got to th BOTTOM of another FJR problem
WHAT?!

Do I have a "Whip Me!" sign on my back?!

My life is technical enough without having to deal with freaking technical SOX! (I just put 'em on - I don't look at them. wtf?! :p )

MEM, When I first touted the Eagle's Nest, I may have neglected to mention that all the local regulars (including me though I'm not really local) order their lobster rolls with an extra roll. Comes gratis.
Fred - thanks but I ate all the fries  so I didn't need the extra bread ;)

Yes There are 3 rows there Not quite blue angles formation

We definitely need to work on that. It's a huge FUBAR situation just waiting to happen. ( ever played Dominoes?!)

I've made a parking suggestion at a couple of group rides, the response is "that's a good idea" but we never implement it.

One of these days, Alice ..... ;)

We actually had the makings of a great FJR chorus line picture when we first pulled in at the Bretton Woods ski area. But the tail end was still getting parked as the Train Station lunch crowd pulled up stakes and they left gaping holes in the previously near perfect formation. <_<

Better luck (or planning) next time...

In 2009 we had a nice (spontaneous) line-up at Zoey's Deli on the Sunday ride in VT, though we didn't have nearly as many bikes:

Dang it I wanted to try a lobster roll while we were up there. I guess we'll have to make another trip plan.
Me too. Maybe I'll get one during the covered bridges ride weekend.
The Eagle's Nest is in Brewer, Maine, which is the sister "city" of (just across the Penobscott river from) Bangor (pronounced Broo-ah and Bang-ah).

That was a wee bit further to the northeast from where we were rambling in NH this past weekend, (like 180 miles from our furthest north point) and will be even further from the Bridges ride. But it isn't all that far off the track for those making the Chowder Run all the way to Bah-Ha-Bah.

There are lobster rolls, and then there are the lobster rolls at the Eagle's Nest. I'll just leave it at that.

I'd never heard a genuine Maine accent before meeting Mr. & Mrs Bluejag at dinner on Saturday night. It's an excellent accent!

(I'm a big fan of accents!)

But when Mrs. Bluejag said 'Squirrel' I near wet my pants! That lady is a peach!

Next year I have to save more money and stay at the motel with the group. It looks like I missed most of the fun!

Tom

Don't mind me, since it's Friday, I'm just checking in to see if there are any more pics of table dancing Canuck gals here. Somebody please PM me if more "entertainment" photos post up here. Thanks!

Well, the same is true of any FJR gathering. I am a cheap skate and like to camp, but I learned after my first FJR group ride, the WV ramble in 2006, that it is always more fun to stay where the rest of the group is staying.

Thank goodness we will be leaving the future in the able hands of the young.

You damn parents have the weirdest thoughts on your mind!! Strange contorted native Mainiac misfits and furry ovine bestiality?

The horror!!

The future is surely (hopefully) closer to eating beef jerky on Martha's Vineyard than any of that perverted stuff.

[edit] even though it's Friday night, CJ - you have a damn fine looking family. ;)

I think this is more like it, Chris!

Fred,

Thanks. As you'll notice, I brought along my family. Aroostook was unwilling to bring his "life partner" because he was afraid the blow up doll would get blown off the bike and was concerned to never see it again. Not to mention, he read somewhere on the forum that smaller riders shouldn't ride pillion until they can at least reach the pegs!

First let me say this trip really meant a lot to Terry and I. We had so much fun right from the start meeting in Broadalbin, NY with Pete, Harlan, Mike and Art n Felicia. What a welcoming bunch from all across the state of NY. :clapping: After a 12 hour day to make it up there after a 1hr storm delay in Middleburg, NY on Rt30 we pulled in to the Blue Moon Hotel. I thought I was dead meat when I asked Terry to hop off and snap this pic.

We headed further down the road trying to find a place to stay but ended up back here for the night. To dark to find the other place we had a nice room here and were right across the street from our meeting point the next morning.

Up early with some time to kill we had a good breakfast and headed over to the meeting spot where we found one heck of a good wood carver.

After meeting up we headed for NH as Art guided us through his favorite routes up around the Sacandaga Lake. We stopped at this overlook for a quick break.

Next stop was the Long Horn for some lunch. Sorry the pic was after Mike had already pulled over behind me but here is VanHarlan and Roadrunner aka (Harlan and Art n Felicia)

We headed over to Vermont and stopped at Quechee Gorge for a quick photo op. We had an amazing FJR Ying n Yang moment with Mike. lol

And the Gorge was pretty cool as well.

Finally arriving at the Fireside for some much needed fun.

we had an awesome time with everyone and the 7Barrel was great too. We ate there like 5 times and of course got the royal treatment with the same awesome waitress Rachel 3 times. Our two funniest moments just happen to take place there as well. As Rachel was taking our first order I thought it would be fun to just tell her to go by our screen names. I told her I was BigBeav and before I could introduce Terry as Mrs Beav she spoke up and said she was little Beav. Art and I about died laughing before she picked up on that one. Then on Sunday evening we were over there again for dinner and Terry had a couple Black Russians. Who's counting anyways. Ok I think it was 3 but they were a bit taller glasses than normal since they recognized us from the other night. We get up to leave and of course Terry heads for the restroom. So we are out front smoking and here comes Terry laughing so hard she was in tears. Apparently she went in the men's room and didn't notice until she was washing her hands and looks over at this guy at the sink beside her. He says "someones had a little to much to drink haven't they". I'm sure she burst into laughter at that point then came out and tried to tell us about it. Then here comes the manager outside to thank us for coming in so often and we got her laughing a bunch too. My girl is something else I'm so glad she met you all and had a great time.

Thank you everyone and especially Art, Felicia, Pete, Carol for hanging with us and guiding us through the rain back to NY. And especially Art n Felicia for allowing us to stay over night and dry all of our gear.

This trip was priceless just for meeting you all.

:yahoo:

Keith & Terry

It was really nice meeting and hanging with you two. We need to do it again, soon. You guys made the trip awesome, even though you wear ass less chaps. :p If you guys had half as much fun as Felicia and I did, then you had a really good time. :yahoo: You all are welcome here anytime.

See Ya Soon

Art & Felicia

Thank's for the excellent pic's, It was great to see pic's of your ride in as well great spending time riding with all of you (hope your son's hockey schedule may get you to covered bridges) A prayer sent for your Maine trip as well.

Yeah, +1!! Harlan's pics were quite good. And a few of you others as well. (I liked Bungie's ride repository)

But all-in-all, this one screwed the pooch on the "photo fest" scale.

Maybe it was the grayness of the day Saturday,

or that so many were riding 1-up (having a photog pillion along is very good for the photo journalism)

or maybe it was the rain on Sunday spoiling our plans and surreptitiously deleting all the good images from Saturday?

All I know is, we better have some better pics after the Bridges ride this year or else them left coasters are going to think we are a bunch of fabricating New England bullshitters.

Since they aren't even attending NAFO this year, as far as they know we are all just a bunch of forum bots...

(well come to think of it that may be accurate, but we don't need to help confirm it for them)
