Not sure if I'm going Friday or Saturday or my route yet. That will depend a lot on Cyndi and her work.

Terri and I will be riding down Friday. We have a room booked at the Super 8 in Santa Barbara for Friday and Saturday nights.

Our route will be from Dixon on I80, to 680, and to 101 into Santa Barbara.

If we make a pitstop in Gilroy and then lunch around Paso Robles it will break the ride into 2hr sections.

Coming home on Sunday we will reverse the route with lunch in Salinas or Gilroy.

This is our first plan and subject to change.

Our route will be from Dixon on I80, to 680, and to 101 into Santa Barbara.

Coming home on Sunday we will reverse the route with lunch in Salinas or Gilroy.

I was figuring to leave around 10am on Fri or ??? would also like to break up the ride and get to the hotel

I'm negotiating to get Friday off work. Fortunately, that is my weekend off so I know I have Sat and Sun.

If I get Friday off, Andy and I will be leaving Huntington Beach mid-morning. If I don't get the day off, we'll be leaving from Long Beach about seven thirty PM.

We're staying at the Holiday Inn, Goleta. Their Internet booking will show no rooms available if you try to book Saturday only. Fairlaner put me straight. You can book via phone, and get a better rate as well as the option of staying only one night. Gotta tell them that you're with the Tim Bates group.

If you are riding down on Saturday, remember that you can meet up with the group on the route. I should have it posted early next week... we're going to survey it this weekend. This may save a VERY early morning rise and backtracking with the group... especially those coming from up north.

Holiday Inn seems to be the most popular spot. I'll check tomorrow to see if I can increase the number of rooms.

PS. It's Santa Babs/Goleta, the bar closes at 9:00 PM - that's why Zodo's has been reservied for Saturday p.m. (Bar open 'til 12:00). I'll post update Sunday.
