Why do so many people post in the wrong section?

Shouldn't this have been under the "Software and Board Operation" section? Seriously though, I just was looking for this particular post and didn't find it right away because it was under "Completely off topic discussions". The reason I was looking for it was because I wanted to agree that the two sections "Technical Discussions" and "Technical/Mechanical Problems" can probably be safely merged into a single section. For the most part I think the whole forum is set up pretty well. I'm also on the VFR board and there they have cut up each section into so many subcatagories it is difficult to find things or to post in the right catagory....Simple is good, less is more.

****, I'm still lookin for the porn section Odot tol' me about, I can't be bothered to post in the right area :dribble:

AGREED! And if you want "cut up into pieces" go over to EpicureanRiders. I like Larry, but that board is WAY too busy.

Generally, people past a certain age/generation are fairly computer illiterate. You guys run a forum with a userbase of a large chunk of those people. Get used to it ;)

Wait until you get 50+ registrations a day, and move on to the REALLY annoying stuff like them calling you because they couldn't register. Putting in 46 instead of 1946 and not knowing what the error 'invalid birthdate' means. Not having clue one what image verification is or how to use it. Not knowing what 'click the link in your email confirmation' means. Not knowing what their email address is...the list goes on, and on, and on.

You should count your blessings that certain people are even able to login and make a post at all! :)

I find a lot of younger folks too and actually the agebase varies from the late twenties to the late forties. We weed most of those out during the registration process. If they can't do those steps....it's Forum Darwinism baby!

And phone calls? Heh.

Hell, most people don't know my real name let alone my phone number or personal e-mail address.

Slapnpop has set a very reasonable bar that most follow. We'll nudge along the folks that lag :aikido:

I say everyone has to submit their topic for approval and location. Admins must now quit their jobs and approve posts full time.

The only topic I think is not self-explanatory is "FJR-Specific Discussions." What goes in there? Isn't the whole Forum specific to FJRs? Well, except for off topic and other sport bikes and so on. But aren't all technical discussions "FJR specific"? Where's Spinoza when you need him? I'm so confused.... Jb

Schweeeet.... Please deliver my salary in person this weekend, as I don't feel comfortable handling 6-figures in the mail.

The other admins are on their own.

We need a Porn section above all. And Idiotic Question and Commentary section. Where my post would likely end up..........

I bet if we all think really, really hard and deep................we can get the whole forum real screwed up. I've posted in the wrong section before and I'm sure I'll be able to do it again( prone to brain farts).

If it's an issue, let the Admins make the adjustment they deem as nessicary. :)

Damn, going to have to get a second job now.

I'm going to the ATL show in the morn. Anyone want to hook up?

Wrong damn place!

Sorry, I'm a f@#king idiot!

JB,

I was sure you would post that the Sphinkter valve on the FJR was clogged and therefore an FJR SPECIFIC topic.

You didn't let me down, Atta boy!

Where was the porn sec again? ;)

Well, where do I post my, "******' SUZUKI DEFECTIVE OIL FILTER" rant? Technical, Other Bike, Off Topic, NERPT or leave you guys outta it and go annoy the VStrom boards? Take your time, I'll be outside, appeasing angered neighbors, as I sop up 100 yards of 10-40 with speedy dry and a push broom.

Oh, hey Matt? When'd you change your last name to 'Org'? :dntknw: Eh, never mind. I'll give you a jungle to discuss. Party line anyone?
