You need just about everything I had to order, and a few extras since you had bags on. It will just give you an idea of how much this is going to be, but I'd say your in for an easy $2700 in parts, thats without cans or a rear sub-frame which is 480.

Looks like it would make a nice weekend project! Well I'll see what happens in the next few days, called ins today and they said expect a call in next 48 hrs, possibly sooner due to injury. :yahoo: I will keep everyone updated.

Maybe even have a tech day out here so everyone can see what goes where and how! This way if anyone ever needs to get under their cowling they know what's involved, I don't drink,but I cook some mean steaks and salsa(homemade) shrimp if anyone wants to sign on.

Imagine that, I might actually be of some help here for once! Hmmm maybe I did hit my head.

I have never replaced the front subframe, I bet that it's a lot of fun with all the wiring and instruments attached to it. Good luck!

Sorry about your crash. Don't get bored and lose that new bike because you started smoking again. You would lose twice big time, if you took that route. (Although your health is more important than any bike --- but just a little more important than a FJR).

Didn't help that the vehicle was 10ft away from where I went down. Not much space to bleed velocity off. I can only imagine what the kinetic force was me:220lbs + bike(1/2 tank) * 18 mpf+= OUCH!

At this point with all you guys stories, I'm kinda glad all my beastie bikes are locked in the barn (back garage) and that there's 250 feet of nice mushy muddy grass between the house and the barn.... I couldn't get a bike out without a 4x4!

Anyway... If the insurance totals it, grab the $$$ and buy it back.... My kid got hit on my 2002 Bandit 1200..., They said $4800 for the bike! less my $500 deductable and oh yeah... did I want to buy the bike for $300? He** YEAH!... Total cost of parts to fix it... $300, although the can still has a dent...

but my son now has the bike in Cali, slipped going around a corner and dented the can again and scratched the flyscreen.... Oh well.... Got friends here that can fix it!... One broken turn signal arm and some buffing compound are all I need.... I even got my deductable back cause it wasnt' my kid's fault...Amazing...

Heal fast and take it easy... It must be spring....<LOL>

The front subframe actually wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Just take pictures before you remove all the wires, and get some zip ties, you'll need em!

A lot of the wires conveniently mount right on the subframe (stay 1), the rest just need a zip tie.

That's what I was hoping. At the scene the cops were even chuckling because I kept saying" I can fix this, I just had it torn down 3 days ago!" That and the fact I kept saying I'm fine while limping about. They did like the gear though, and I really had to bite my tongue when one of 'em said I should get a HD, the wifes face was funny when she heard that. She knew what I wanted to say!

Sorry to her about your accident, I'm glad to hear that your all right. The bike can always be fixed, no matter how bad the damage is. It's nice to hear stories like this because it emphasizes the fact that EVERY time you go for a ride, no matter how short or long, you need to be prepared for the worst. Wear your protective gear, it just might save your life.

First, I'm glad you're OK, relatively speaking. I'm totally bummed to read about the accident. Can't say I understand what happened to cause it, but I'm really sorry it happened. Glad to hear you were dressed right which no doubt minimized your potential injuries.
