Another contingent of the Canadian Invasion Army visited the WNYFJR facility yesterday on a scouting mission to assess the situation and to do some mini-farkling. All was well in the village of Eden as we also decided to sample the offerings of a local eatery at the four corners in Eden..... yep, Four Corners Cafe is what it was called and we didn't leave hungry. Great riding temperatures yesterday, Madmudder and Wine Guy enjoyed the trip and commradery. WNYFJR...... well, he was just being his usual accomodating self and put up with us.....
They even got me to go out for a ride...of course, it's only a mile to the café and a mile back, but hey, I was riding dammit! They even gave me crap for the 'patina' on my FJR. It gets the bugs scraped off once a year in the spring, and I haven't gotten to that yet. Always a hoot and a half to see you guys!

Been on vacation for a week, and then a week traveling for work. But I'm home now, and I do intend on being there again this year. I'll bring the tent and extra beer.

It'll be good to see you again Jon...even if you WEREN'T bringing extra beer!

Now come on. It's always better seeing Jon WITH extra beer. Don't kid yourself. How else would you keep Madmudder's beer mug full? Geez. I know you're just trying to be nice Mike. I get it.

Think about it, Madmudder's mug is always full, Jon has extra beer, I can never find mine, yamafitter gets blamed......... and now he's not gonna be there.....

I always bring beer, otherwise I'm not invited!. 'nuff said.

Mike Wine Guy... hey, you'll actually get to have a couple this year!, eh!?

It was a vicious cycle. My beer disappeared so you offered me yours, yours disappeared so we dug into someone else's - and eventually we had to make a run! I hope to plan better this year!

Lack of proper planning on YOUR part does NOT constitute a beer emergency on MY part...

Would it be ok if Mel came with me? She won't have a problem staying in the tent, and...... I'm really just saying..... I bet she'd let Laura take her bike for a ride if she wanted....

More than OK for Mel to join us! As for Laura taking her bike for a spin...she hasn't even taken the MSF Basic Rider course yet, so you may want to hold off on that offer.

If my wife Lisa is able to ride her Honda CTX700 DCT ABS to Mike and Laura's, you are all welcome to take it for a test ride also.

Definitely want to make it there this year. I would like to service the front forks. My FJR only has about 14,000 miles, but will get bushings as well as seals and 2 liters of 5wt fork oil. If not too much of an imposition, I would like to stay overnight, if no room, a close by motel? Besides beer, is there anything else I can bring? I may bring some smoked pulled pork if that would be welcome?

Looking forward to participating!

I'd bet your bushings and seals are OK..... if you had twice that mileage then I'd say change them. We could freshen up the fork oil if you like, up to you.

Of all the forks we've done, Gen 1 or 2, bushings are getting fairly worn at 30k, with some exceptions up or down. To replace seals requires total disassembly, so I vote we don't do those. Oil change can be a game day decision...... we can do that without total disassembly.
