Definitely want to make it there this year. I would like to service the front forks. My FJR only has about 14,000 miles, but will get bushings as well as seals and 2 liters of 5wt fork oil. If not too much of an imposition, I would like to stay overnight, if no room, a close by motel? Besides beer, is there anything else I can bring? I may bring some smoked pulled pork if that would be welcome?Looking forward to participating!
Glad to have you along! There's room for tents in the back yard if you're so inclined. I need to check the head count so far that have claimed spots indoors. I know Ray, KJ & Debbie put in requests, but I need to go back through this thread and see what's what. I have three beds and three sofas, plus floor space (warning: it's a 2-cat household!). And NO ONE would turn down smoked pulled pork!!

Full House you did not mention how big a guy you are. The factory front springs are on the week side for a 200 pound plus guy, so if you exceed that you may want to replace the front springs & or cartridges for an incredibly different ride. I will warn you that once you do this it is complemented by doing the rear shock as well but can be done down the road. Its all relative to budget and riding style.

Ray has suggested that we do oil replacement now, will look at the total fork rebuild in the future along with rear shock update.(Sheesh, every time I read something here, my wallet gets lighter!! By the way' 220 lbs.

WNYFJR, thanks for hosting this event!!

Well, those springs are a bit light for you......... your call, but it will make a noticeable difference if you upgrade.

Madmudder, thanks for the link, PM'd Ray earlier asking for his recommendation, probably go with his recommendation. I know Race-Tech is a quality product. I will look at their product.

thank

John

NIce, Dean. That means I won't have to ride out to Rochester to meet you for breakfast this year.

Not that there's anything wrong with riding 250 miles to get to Mike and Laura's, who live 50 miles from me.

That's only if Mel doesn't come. If she does... she's been keeping me in line for most of the last 18 years. It's not an easy task.

Hello gentlemen. My wife and I will be visiting our daughter and SIL in Jamestown, planning on getting there the 2nd. I would sure like to swing your way, say hello, and take care of any maintenance that might be needed after a couple of thousand miles. Is there room? Won't need overnight accommodations unless the beer drinking the maintenance gets serious.

BobCo, sorry for the slow response, but you're more than welcome to drop in! Happy to meet new folks, that's a big part of these wrench sessions. Truth be told, lots of peeps show up just to stand around with drink in hand, point and laugh! 😄

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Looking forward to being there again this year.
