Okay, I got the idea from nik.hisham.
A seemingly insignificant photo becomes the title of your report.
Or something.
Thanks, nik.
I took a ride last weekend, and here's a pile of snapshots from my trip.
I headed down I-80 before dawn,
and was across the Carquinez Bridge right around sunrise.
My first real stop near Hercules.
I only pretended to need gas.
Just had to use the men's room.
A few more miles, and out across the mighty Bay Bridge...
...up through the morning air ...
...and into the city.
Then north, and another bridge - the Golden Gate.
Into Marin County, and a left turn, up onto the headlands.
Here, I should mention that it was warm and calm
and incredibly clear for a January day.
Looking back at the way I'd come.
Then on down the other side. Pt. Bonita in the distance.
Yup, this report will include tons of pictures of my FJR in front of things.
Okay. The title shot.
Lots of bicycle nazis and runners come out here in the morning.
Then, back over for a quick run through Sausalito.
Lots of interesting things in Sausalito.
Then, before I jumped back onto Highway 1 for the run north,
I stopped to look around this place - San Francisco Sea Plane Tours.
While I was getting snapshots of the float planes, I was approached by
this lovely gal - Jean.
She told me she had a flight leaving in about 30 minutes, and that it was
a beautiful day to be in the air.
I asked her when the pilot would be along, and she smiled and said,
"I'm the pilot, Michael. Can I take you for a ride in the sky?"
I said, "Sure! And later, maybe we can go up in your plane."
I didn't really say that to her.
Chatted for a few minutes. Great sense of humor.
Moving on...
The next few hours I spent riding up the coast, listening
to music, alone with my thoughts, enjoying the brilliant
sunshine, and stopping for the occasional snapshot.
...It's like paradise
Spread out with a butter knife...
I don't eat oysters.
There aren't too many more beautiful routes in America, I think.
I always appreciate how fortunate I am to live in this area.
This is just across the road from that last shot.
Big surf today.
