I got mine installed a few days ago, It was with great sadness I took a grinder to the back side. Full holeshot system and it hit the pipe. I don't know if something is different about my bike or pipes. Anyway It works great, JB weld and loctited.I'm quite sure Dave would have done a better job adjusting the fit, but I didn't get it to look at anyway

Point taken, sorry you had to go through the extra work. If possible can you send me a picture. I would like to see

where the interference is.

Note: If you have holeshot slip on pipes it will fit just fine.

Note: If you have Holeshot full system you will need a modified version.

Dave
Perhaps I misread the Notes when I ordered?

NP here, I'm glad to have them. I only posted as a warning as not everyone has a grinder laying about ;)

If you still need pics I'll try to get some tomorrow.

No, you read them correctly. Alzhiemers has not set in yet.

From your information that you provided I updated the notes. The only way I find these things out is by the feedback from the forum collective. Send a pic if you have time to [email protected] so I can make sure a modified version can work also. I should be able to tell.

Thanks, Dave

I purchased one of these a couple of weeks ago. It was delivered in 3 days and took about two minutes to install. It fit exactly, what fine workmanship. It sure gives me a much bigger footprint. Small price for a big peace of mind!

Thats a relief!

You should have pics in your inbox ;)

Got my "big-foot" in the mail yesterday.... a little loc-tite and 2 or less minutes and it was on and looking good

My neighbor came over and took a peek at it just prior to putting it on and was impressed by the workmanship.

Thanks Dave--- good job

I also just installed the big foot. Quick and easy install. Looks great too. Thanks Dave for a nice product.

Amazing - seriously a must have piece to add to the bike.

Funny that I have had it on my bike now for so long I really just take it for granted until you park on grass or something soft. I am truly thankful every time I go to the superbike races at Road America. Huge 4 mile track and bikes parked everywhere, in the woods, on the gravel, on the grass - basically anywhere ya want..... That is one of the best reminders how nice these things are to have when you see guys parking and sinking their kickstands in to the soft stuff...

I have never seen so many crunched up aluminum cans or those plastic kickstand pads on strings as when I go to that race....

Thanks again Dave for making one of many great products for the FJR !!

I have this little gem mounted on my '13. Only fitment issue was the "toe" of the foot banging on the center stand. I milled the underside of the toe at a 45 degree angle to clear the center stand. Looks perfectly normal when in the down position.

Could you find the time to post up a picture. You have my curiousity. I have sold several to 2013 owners and your the first to mention any fitment issues. If you have a problem posting pic's just send it to my email and I can post it for you. I would like to make sure others don't have the same issue as you if I can avoid it.

Thanks, Dave

Dave,

Here is the interference with the centerstand on my 13. As you can see I just put it in the mill and angled the toe to clear the centerstand as much as I could without altering the profile when the sidestand is down. I did grind the bottom of the sidestand and probably will have to grind it a little more to get the final clearance I need. That's what winter is for.

Thanks for posting pic's.

Well it looks like mama yamaha changed things. Maybe this is why it is easier to get the bike up on the centerstand now. They must have shortened things up a bit. Well that sucks, looks like some folks will have to go back to squashed beer cans. No offence Bust. Once again the Gen1 and Gen2 FJR's appear to superior again. The more I am hearing the more I will be keeping my Gen2

Dave

I think the stand is shorter. While I have never had a problem throwing up my 05 on the stand before I can now easily put the 13 up with one hand and a little pressure on the stand. Here is a pic so you can see how much material I removed.

Well now it doesn't seem quite as bad as the other picture. Maybe I could modify the orginal to work. We will look into doing a setup for this.

Dave

put me down for a '13 when you re-design. I have the one from my '08 on my '13, but with over 100K miles on the big foot, it's finally starting to wear away on the underside. Looks like a pair of old tennis shoes with holes. :)
