There are a few of us kicking tires over on the ADV site to have a SUPER TENERE ride/party TEXAS style... I want to take part in making this happen and make it a great event! This will be open to other bikes aswell.. Anyone interested in going? There is no schedule.. Just some thoughts being thrown around....

Anyone, Anyone ??? :clapping:

There is no one out there that wants to have a Super Tenere party in Texas ?? You for real ?
Set a date and set a place and I will be there. Please try to avoid having your event "step on" other FJR Events, such as CFR next June. I hear a strong rumor there are beautiful red headed nurses up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; and I am certainly not going to miss out on that!!!

Even though I am fully retired and just ******* off riding my motorcycles, I always attend the FJR Forum Events first and foremost!

...They were not overly impressed....

From reading the linked article, not the impression I got, at all.
https://www.cycleworld.com/motorcycle_roadtest/first_rides_articles/archive/first_ride_2010_bmw_r1200gs As a long time Cycle World Subscriber, I was comparing the Tenere review to the Cycle World BMW R1200GS review. A lot more ponies and lighter weight on the GS. But, my $1k deposit is still in place with D & H Cycles in Cullman, Alabama. When I get back from Guatemala after my 63rd Birthday, I will present a full facts Papa Chuy Ride Report on my Super Tenere 1200. The proof is always in the personal ownership riding, not motorcycle magazines.

I didn't get that impression either, especially with what they said about the comfort level and being everyone's choice after a couple of days. It sounds like the Tenere is best at what I want to use it for.

MCRIDER007 and SLK50: What dealerships did you gentlemen order your Super Tenere 1200's from and place your deposits at? Mine is from D & H in Cullman, Alabama and I am right behind Canyonman on their order sheet. If you guys also ordered from D & H, when we get closer to delivery I can contact Jerold and Renaa and see the dates of the arrivals of our machines. Would be way cool if they all came in together, we could head over to the Big Bend Recreational Area around Presidio, Texas and wring them out! Could also offroad up in Arkansas, closer to Pennysylvania.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bend_National_Park Hey No One, if you are open to suggestions for the location for of the first Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 Owners Rally, how about Big Bend National Park! I just mentioned Big Bend to MCRIDER007 and SLK50 in the previous post. I turn 62 years old today and I have never ridden off road in Big Bend; and I have been riding since I was 14. Big Bend is definitely on my Bucket List. I have ridden Texas Route 90 many times and have seen the signs in Marfa and Marathon pointing South to Big Bend, but I have never taken the detour. Looks like plenty of places to stay at and plenty of off road tracks! Please, por favor, bitte! Thank you, merci, mahalo!

No One, I know this is shameless begging! The terrain of Big Bend looks outstanding; I know, this video is of Harleys on pavement, but the background scenery looks amazing!

Saw the Tenere at Barney's in Brandon, Florida, last Saturday...the Yamaha guys had the new Star Stryker for test rides and brought along the Tenere for us to look at. Apparently is was bone dry so they couldn't crank it but they did allow us to sit on it...what an ergonomic delight that was...high, wide and handsome...neat dirt bike for my 6'7" frame!

I ordered mine locally at the dealership where I have been buying Yamaha's since 1984. Yes, the price was higher than D&H's but (1) I don't have to go 2500 miles to pick it up, and (2) if you don't support your local dealerships than its just a matter of time before you do not have a local dealership...and they gave me a very good price considering what their cost is going to be.

MCRIDER007: That is wonderful news that you have a local Yamaha dealer that is decent and that you can trust. Here in Phoenix: SkooterG, vectervp1, FJRobert and the rest of us just don't trust the local Yamaha dealerships, for either Sales or Service; they do shoddy work and with shady business practices. That is outstanding that you have had a relationship with your Yamaha shop since 1984, a really great experience. I certainly wish that I had that rapport with a Yamaha shop here in Maricopa County, AZ.

I've a great Phoenix Harley-Davidson shop I've been buying my H-D's from since 1989: Buddy Stubbs Harley-D. But the Central Arizona Yamaha shops are truly pathetic, a very sad state of affairs!

You are only as old as the women you feel! Or in RadioHowie's case, the manatees you feel. Or in Bustanut joker's case, the sheep you feel. Or in HotRodZilla's case, the armadillos you feel. Or in FJRay's case, the goats you feel. Or in Old Michael's case.....
