I can see this being a possiblity IF with a ADV bike, one falls down and Happens to cradle a Rock/Other Object Between the Crash Bars and the Side Cases...otherwise this would seem unlikely.
You kinda like stirrin **** don't ya.... :)

Put hard **** on if that's what ya wanna feel..

And if you think you're going to keep your feet even close to the pegs, or even the bike when you eat it at speed....

Once the whole balancing act fails, I don't want to be anywhere near the bike. Hard bags might try and keep me there.

Good luck to you...

I'd rather have soft stuff rubbing me during my getaway...

But that's the way I am....

Am I rude?*

*Beemerdons is a Goober...

Man O man, it is getting close now to breaking out the credit card and ordering stuff. At present, it will be the SW Motech mounts and Trax cases (37 L left and 45 L right) in black for me. The rest of my list is too long to type  . But it is going to be fun putting it all together. Hey Don, I might see ya in Cullman. All the other forums should be hit to get an entire USA response on a Super Tenere meeting (maybe Yamaha would be a sponsor or sumpin).

I was thinking of the TraX also, but they can't do this:

Two adult sparkling beverages (Mexican) on each side and if one gets the optional roof rack for panniers, that makes for eight cans! You could invite your buds over for a frostie.

p.s. for the great soft vs. hard bag arguement, when my VEE took a nap on the Top of the World highway, my SW-Motec engine guard and the K®appa hard luggage saved my leg on one side, so I'm for the hard stuff, but that's just my humble opinion. So I think I'm pretty much sold on the Micatech V2 panniers and there's a group buy going on over here: https://www.yamahasup...php?topic=446.0

No, just sharing a more accurate description. When the one time I did lay down my FJR in my Grandfathers Wet Grass, my leg was Not pinned or pressured due to the Extra Space Afforded by the Hardcases. Stay Soft if you want, doesn't bother me none.

And No you are not rude.

I do trust the hard cases on my FJR. Wet grass or smooth asphalt, good support.

Off road, nothing is smooth....

rushes, here's that pic I took of you between Cerocahui and El Divisadero. Do think it was a good idea not to have your hard bags on for that stretch of Mexico! jes' sayin'

Many Thanks No One, I love your enthusiasm for our Yamaha Super Tenere 1200! So we have something to plan towards, I want to submit the dates of April 28 and 29 of 2012 to be the Saturday-Sunday Weekend for the FJR Forum Big Bend Super Tenere Rally. Friday, April 27 would be the arrival day in BBNP and then Monday, April 30 would be the departure day. I will work on an itinerary for both lodging and camping options, and look into activities such as rafting the Rio Grande and other excursions!

AWESOME!! I would love to take part in the organization for sure.... Also dont forget about Lajitas and the great hotel they have there for people that might not want to camp... I'm camping but just sayin.... :yahoo:

That's the funniest looking KLR I've ever seen. I think I spot Yamaha blue on that bike.

That fool is too skinny to be me though.

Here is the full video of that hairy ass three thousand foot high crossing! I think that we could get Scott fjrrider to do this! I know, if we get Russ drunk enough, rushes would attempt that one!

No One,

Well you are making good use of your time until you get your bike... I am excited for you... patience is not one of my virtues.

No One -- Interested in why you chose the Zega vs Zega Pro boxes? Did you go for the entire kit or use a mounting system from another vendor?

Research... ;) TIA

--G

Hello,

Well I wanted the Zega Pro bags. I am in the motorcycle industry but I dont have a whole sale outlet for the Tourageek stuff. So for fun Ive just poked around on Ebay once and awhile looking for a few things. I few weeks ago I came across a brand new set (technically they are used) of ZEGA bags with NO reserve.. They started at $.99 I won the auction and got a GOOD deal on them and the rack the bags are installed onto the bike. So for the price, I got a new set of Zega bags & rack, im really happy. So long and short, I have my new bags ready for the bike...... LOL

I have a few bikes to play with... I'm also building or rebuilding at 71' CB350 in my "spare" time.... Just something to keep the mind numb till May...... In my world, NEVER enough bikes.... Its like family, Did I tell you my wife and I are expecting? Yea, Due in May....... :p

Looks like you have many of good events happening in May...Congratulations!

Funny, I toured the country on a CB350...great experience but NOT a FJR.
