Like many old farts "boomers" I have trouble seeing fine detail up close. Things like gauges, song data on the radio, street names on gps...On a ride last weekend this was driving me nuts. Glasses hurt my ears and fogged up. Anyway I heard about optx 20/20 stick on lenses. https://optx2020.com/hydrotac.aspx

These are a soft plastic lens used to add bi-focal correction to sunglasses. They are held on by wetting and sticking on then squeezing the water out.

The pair I ordered arrived tonight!

I currently have these between the layers on a pinlock lens. Initial impressions are quite promising! It is a bit of a challenge getting them in the correct position at the distance involved. I shot optx an email asking about getting a 1 piece (strip) and even asked pinlock if they might consider adding a corrective strip to the bottom of their lenses. They (pinlock) did reply saying they would pass it on to whoever...

I'll update here if I get any good news from optx or pinlock.

I would suggest modifying your helmet padding around your ears so you can wear your bifocals while riding without your ears hurting.

+1, I wear my glasses when I ride and have progressive lens, I have thin metal temple arms, I use a Foggy Respro mask for anit fog.

I wear my glasses in my Arai Signet-Q without any issues, except maybe forgetting to take them off BEFORE removing my helmet.

I wear sunglasses under my helmet without issue, but your solution to your problem was ingenious as Hell...If it works for you, cool.

I have the flip down visor for sunshade (i love it!), just need a little correction for up close stuff. Correction that wont fog up.

This all started when I realized I was way off my planned course in the mountains. It was raining cats and dogs. I got gps app running on the phone, secured it on its mount and got a rain cover on it. I got my glasses on and hit the road, fogged up within 1/10 mile. This was the low point of my weekend getaway.

It is my hope that this will solve that problem. Maybe next trip I can find that full 360 degree curve....

I tried looking into something similar a while back. There are lenses similar to a pinlock that stick to the inside of a SCUBA mask. The issue I ran into was that the SCBA or full face respirator shield is closer to the eyes than the helmet visor shield. It is difficult to mass produce a generic lens that works because every helmet is different and the distance from eyes to shield is different with each individual. I wish you luck and I am watching this closely. Good thread.

That's what I've been wearing for years. I buy the ones that aerostitch sells. Inexpensive and work great.

I can't believe you put "Aerostich" and "inexpensive" in the same sentence!

Well...... I agree their prices are high but, if you consider the quality the price for the bifocals are good by comparison. They are well made and if you don't abuse them they last a long time. :)

Was meeting with a new contractor last week and noticed a plaque mounted over the office door way. Thought it was very profound. It stated “When you buy quality, you only cry once”.

That's good. I'm going to have to remember that.

Ooohh, thanks for that tip! I gave up on tank bag maps and stuff awhile back as they were just a blurry mess while riding, lol.

Another one I always use is if you buy cheap shit, you get cheap shit.
