    Brodie's ignition relay location

Since I built mine from information contained on this forum it must be here somewhere! The location where I work often won't let me load all the content (pictures) but I think it's in this thread somewhere...https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=111493&st=0&p=507640entry507640 I...

    Badly galled rear caliper bolts

I've a better solution, stop using brakes! :yahoo:

    Badly galled rear caliper bolts

Can someone post a pic of which bolts you are talking about...just to clarify. Hmm, on second thought, I guess it has to be the two bolts that the caliper pivots or slides on. That sucks...I'm scared to pull them out now. Two years and 26,000 miles it's probably too late to lube them up.

    Cruise Control in Nashville

Hey, can you post some links to the threads that helped you? I'm thinking of installing a cruise control on the feejer and I'd like to see what other's have bought and done. Thanks, j

    Grounding Harness

I have the Brodie harness in place so I've been watching these discussions with interest. I spoke to a (to be unamed) service manager last week and her/his advice was to just hang onto the recall letter and keep the after market solution in place. I am inclined to agree with this advice...

Valve Checks vs. Adjustment Required Poll

Fred W, How long did this job take you? I am contemplating doing the valve check myself and after reading this entire thread, I think I will take a crack at it. I've not seen anyone post how long it took. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, j

    Lost my Key!

LOL, did the same thing. Dropped my key and it landed on the frame and slide nicely under the tank. Luckily I always carry two spare keys in my jacket pocket ostensibly so I can open the side cases without having to turn off the engine. When I got home, I raised the tank and there was my key...

    300 miles on a tank

Dude, you spoiled the ending for me. I've hit gravel a few times but have always been able (lucky) to keep her upright. That's why I prefer to ride at Deals Gap...never see any gravel there!

    300 miles on a tank

Yeah, well, I was cruising at around 75 mph on I81. 55 on that road is a death sentence. I'd also lose my mind going that slow but I suppose it's a guaranteed way to get to 300.

    300 miles on a tank

On my way from Deals Gap last month I went from Christiansburg VA to Woodbridge VA on a single tank of gas. Then, because I had no time to get gas, I went on to work at Bolling AFB the next morning. When I finally got gas, I had 263 miles on the tank. I was able to get 5.5 gallons in before...

    Bloated Angel

Ugh. This is what gives me pause as I get ready to take my bike in for its first valve check. Where to go and feel confident they know what they are doing?

28 years of riding and I finally crashed...

Awesome. Check my buddy's website while you get better. https://miles-by-motorcycle.com/forums/discussion.html There is a thread there about a May trip to Deals Gap...you (and anybody reading this) may want in on the action. Never to early to start planning! Josh

28 years of riding and I finally crashed...

Mike, I hope you are doing well. Is that Wawa the one on Rt 3 and Rt 20? I know there is a gas station there but not sure if it's a Wawa. Anyway, when you are back on two wheels, let's go for a ride sometime. Josh

28 years of riding and I finally crashed...

Oh, just remembered that the rider was a motorcycle instructor too. He wasn't even wearing a helmet! My point is that the "I'm just going down the road to _______ and I'll be back in 3 minutes and I won't be going over 20 mph" is very false logic. I don't understand it at all. Not giving you...

28 years of riding and I finally crashed...

Just read through this thread. Glad you are recovering and that the injuries were relatively minor. As for ATGATT, well, a riding buddy of mine has a friend who is basically a vegetable from a riding accident. He was just riding down the street to check out the bike (I can't remember the...

    Vibration Issues Solved

I started out from my house with 12,375 on the ODO and landed back home with 13,725. Approximately 1,100 to 1,150 miles was there and back. The remainder was at the dragon, route 28, and the skyway. We also layed down the law on some twisties going and coming but you get the idea. She...

Any FJRs headed for Deals Gap?

Jim/Don, great to meet you guys and the ride up to and on the skyway was awesome. Watching the video last night was a blast. Trying to keep up with Don was pushing my comfort zone a bit but I like that as I'm continuing to gain confidence in the bike. Seeing Don take those corners at high...

I never really understood the "blow" part of that term. Luckily my wife does!

    Vibration Issues Solved

I have solved ALL the vibration (buzzing, whatever the hell else you want to call it) issues with my '09 FJR. No, I didn't sell the bike and buy a Kawasaki. I saw NO improvement with tightening engine bolts. And I didn't buy any fancy grips with gel designed by NASA. So what did I do? Well...
