    PCIII with new ECU

My '07 with new ECU, PCIII and stock MAP runs great -- a little richer than original ECU and 38mpg instead of 40. You did disconnect the O2 sensor, yes?

    Sunday ride to Daytona-Anyone?

OK, it's not Daytona, but lots of nice back roads to get there and great bakery stuff. Clicky Wife and I are going over for breakfast Saturday 10/6 and load up side cases with German bread. If anybody wants to go, we could meet in Deland or downtown Yalaha :D

Thanks for the foam link. Stuff looks perfect for insert.

    Customize your stock seat

For the last 15 years or so the best bicycle saddles have featured a narrow design just wide enough for the two load-bearing "sit bones", very firm foam over plastic shells and a cut-out down the middle. For examples, Clicky Correct set up includes a level or slight ("half a bubble") tilt to...

    help gen2 o2 sensor disconnect

Get on the right side of the bike on the floor, look up at the pipes, identify the thing screwed into the pipes with the wire coming out of it, trace the wire to a connector about halfway up the side of the bike, disconnect the connector, tape up connector ends and secure same.

    Concours to FJR Backrest Bracket

The pad is about 2" thick x 6 3/4" high x 9" wide (top) and 10 1/2" wide (bottom). Installed height is about 7 3/8" above the top of the back grab rail. I'm 6' and it's easy to clear.

    Concours to FJR Backrest Bracket

The late '90s Concours backrest (Kawasaki P/N K53043-052A) has proportions I like and these pics show it adapted it to my '07 using 3/8" x 3" x 4" aluminum angle from Mill Supply Outfit The bracket is elevated 3 mm off the rear rack with spacers cut from Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

    Handlebar mounting nut torque

Torquing the handlebar mounting nut to the spec 47 ft lbs worked fine on one side but pulled the stud out of the plate thingy under the triple clamp at 30 ft lbs on the other side. Ordered a new plate thingy from Universal but in the meantime will attempt a washer fix. Anybody else have...

    Scorpion Helmets

Wife and I have been riding with these for a few months. 400 is especially good fit on oval (as viewed from top) head. Comfortable, not-particularly-quiet helmet with a no-fog shield that works.

    Power Commander for 2007

Dynatech told me the PCIII and stock MAP were unchanged from '06 to '07. My bike's been on the PCIII for a couple hundred miles and have run it up to only 4000, but torque is very linear and it will pull from a stop at idle. Throttle response was more abrupt than stock until I disconnected the...
