WTB Grab rail for 2007 FJR

I am looking for the grab rail/mini rack that is stock on the FJR. I prefer silver, but any color will do. I want to go back to stock but lost my original. Thanks, Lew

Bionic Gloves, Love em & hate their customer service

I have had a pair of Bionic gloves for 10 months. The gloves cannot be beat for fit and comfort. However, a seam repped out between the wrist and palm. Their customer service says they only warranty against manufacturing defects for 60 days. Buyer Beware.

Power Commander V + Auto Tune

  Thanks for the reallity check! I will do the usual manual check, though I don't have a reference value to compare it to as I was simply paying attention to the Yamaha dashboard indicator. My Suzuki SV650S lost about 20% in gas mileage after installation of a PCIII.....that...

Power Commander V + Auto Tune

I just had Mickey Cohen install and tune the PC V + Auto Tune on my '07 AE. A Fabulous difference/improvement in throttle response. I had put the G2 throttle tube on previously. Bonus: the average mileage on my 36 mile, one way, commute jumped about 10% to a peak of 52.8 mpg according to the...

Gen II Heli Tripple & Risers

I just had Mickey Cohen put on the Heli upper triple. Love it! I am vertically challenged (5'3") I have the risers as well put have not put them on as Mickey says the triple streched the cables to the max. What is the experience of other Gen II folks on the combo cable fit? Cheers!

    Brand new Bike, Dead Battery!

Awesome pictures: I sure miss that country. I lived in Calgary for 5 years and spent nearly every weekend in the Rockies (late Ninties). I finally got my FJR1300AE to a point where I can drive it comfortably. I sent my seat to Spencer in Florida "www.greatdaytoride.com". An article in...

Who makes the best FJR shop manual?

Does anyone have a parts fische for the Gen II AE that they are willing to part with?

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

I started this thread thinking that the newer FJR's (08,09) had better control over the throttle. It appears that the newer ones are still jerky. I was looking for updated ECU's and YCCS controllers. The consensus seems to be that the Power Commander III or V will cure the throttle abruptness...

Have a question for FJR Techs

I am very interested in the Gen II smoothnes result. Since you had a PCIII with the smoothness map, is the new combo as good or better from the smoothness point of view. As you have noted in my ECU post, my '07 AE is a killer. Can you download the Wally map into the PC V and start from there...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

I have the G2. Can't say it made a lot of difference. I just had the throttle bodies sync'd, the cables lubed and the slop removed, along with the Yamaha bullitens (ECM, Ign sw, etc.). It is definitely better but still touchy off the line. If your '08 is still abrupt, maybe I should go direct...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

Safety Issue!!! The awful combination of abrupt throttle, abrupt clutch, and drive line slop is likely to get someone killed. I came to a blind intersection at the top of a hill where I needed to turn left: with oncoming traffic I had to stop at the top of the hill. Upon trying to accelerate...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

I cannot find the part number for the cam at the throttle body assembly as the aftermarket fische does not call it out specifically. However, the entire throttle body assembly has the same part number for both 2008 and 2009 AE's. And the 2007 model TBA has the same base part number (3P6-13750)...

Johnny80s': Please clarify what you mean by "G2" and "tube"! Thanks!

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

Anthony: From what I have read and experienced, the jerky, inconsistant throttle is the nature of the '06 & '07 AE's. If you think you have an exception, I would like to try it. One issue for me with the FJR's is the combo of heavy and tall as I have a 28 in. inseam. I had mine lowered by Race...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

I did find some part numbers: ECU: 3P6-8591A-23-00 for 2007 3P6-8591A-60-00 for 2008 3P6-8591A-A0-00 for 2009 I don't know for sure, but Yamaha has a "Motor Control Unit" that I think is the YCCS controller. Can someone verify my assumption?? MCU: 2D2-86510-10-00 for 2007...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

:) Thanks for the info! Your data confirms my own thinking as Yamaha is not likely to change any more than they have to. My one sensor concern is the Throttle Position Sensor as a different profile on that sensor would help the evil throttle response. Changing the throttle actuator cam profile...

    ECU Differences '07, '08, '09 ??

I am looking for the facts on the physical and firmware differences among the AE versions of the '07, '08, '09 ECU's and YCCS controllers. I am told by Rob at Cucamonga Yamaha that they are very different. My '07 AE has an evil throttle (jerky and totally inconsistant). I would like to upgrade...
