    FJR or K1200 GT ???

Here's one of the threads on this topic you might want to check out: FJR vs. K1200GT On paper they look like equal performers so it basically looks like it's going to come down to cost. Any other opinions are just conjecture since nobody has done a side-by-side comparison...

    AirForce1 Museum/Lunch ride Sat March 11th

I'm IN. This is of course if nothing pops up between now and then... I guess the above statement is true for all potential riders but since we live in such a litigious society it just feels better to always add a disclaimer no matter what you do... By the way, reading posts like this in tiny...

    GPS for your PDA Options

Brundog, sounds like a great setup. In fact, your setup is what I wanted to experiment with but I couldn't find a 4-conductor cable anywhere. I have the accessory stereo headphones/microphone for the Treo and it uses a 4-conductor connector similar to your PDA. I was considering cutting the...

    Fjr1300 Paint Color Codes

Thanks! I've been pretty happy with the Sargent seat so far but I never gave the stock seat a chance. I switched to the Sargent as soon as I got the bike because my wife wanted a backrest (of course she's never ridden on the bike the 9 months I've had it <_< ). HERE'S the contact info...

    GPS for your PDA Options

Wow! You're right, I didn't scroll down far enough on that link. That 6900 has everything! GPS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/PDA/Phone... Only shortfall I could see was the use of a mini-SD slot (1GB) versus a SD slot (4GB cards available) but that's really nitpicking... Looks like I'll still be changing...

    GPS for your PDA Options

Very nice PDA/GPS unit. I like how they integrated the GPS antenna into the body of the unit and also the larger display. My only problem with it is the fact that they replaced the phone capability. It seems there's always a trade-off. Either a PHONE/PDA and have to use an external GPS...

    GPS for your PDA Options

Shadowfax, finding the cables was probably one of the hardest parts of the whole setup. I searched Radio Shack, Fryes, Circuit City, etc... I eventually had to settle for the over-priced CHATTERBOX CELL PHONE CABLE for $19.99 (the dealership where I purchased the Chatterbox had it in stock)...

    Fjr1300 Paint Color Codes

Well Garaud I chickened out and went and had the bags professionally painted and the results came out great. The only hint that the bags were scraped shows on the rubber bumpers in the middle of the bags. I chose not to replace those. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the results... :D

    GPS for your PDA Options

Just thought I'd post an update to the GPS via PDA... I'm using a Treo 650 with TomTom maps loaded onto a 2GB SD memory card. You could probably load all the street maps in the entire US on a single 1GB memory card but the 2GB gives you a little more room for other apps including MP3 music...

    using PDA for GPS

Yep, I love the setup. Here's some additional responses in THIS thread. I'll be updating the thread with some pictures shortly...

    Porshe Carrera VS R1...

Recently I had a new model C6 Corvette hand me my arse on a very curvy back country road. We weren't necessarily racing but I sure wasn't able to keep up with him as he hustled through the curves. I kinda figured it might have been the massive grip and amazing torque of that car that helped...

Do you always wear a helmet?

I've never tried riding without my helmet but I have thought about it a couple of times when I was riding out in the middle of the desert. I'd like a choice but that doesn't mean my choice would be any different than I make right now...bugs in the teeth don't really appeal to me.

    URGENT! Lane Sharing in Jeopardy?

I think I'll write to Senator Ducheny here in San Diego. She seems to be a friend of the motorcyclist based on her "Freedom to Ride" legislature. *********************************** Senator Ducheny Fights for Your “Freedom To Ride” 2005/02/22 Senator Ducheny Senator Ducheny Fights...

    URGENT! Lane Sharing in Jeopardy?

Only the Senator's Long Beach constituents can send an email to that website. Looks like snailmail and phone calls are the way to go. I'm definitely going to be an activist on this one! It'd be great if the AMA or some other organization organized a ride to this guys office. I think he'd get...

Palomar Observatory Ride Sat Feb 11th

Thanks bigdolma... I was inspired by all the Victoria's Secret catalogs my wife gets in the mail almost everyday. They're almost better than Playboy (just without the articles)!

Palomar Observatory Ride Sat Feb 11th

A word of caution: Mt. Palomar on weekends is heavily traveled by crotch rockets whipping around the curves so (naturally) it's heavily patroled by CHP too.

When did you get your 06?

I think your poll ends too soon and is fairly optimistic judging from past PDP deliveries. What about the bikes that won't actually be delivered until June, July, Aug... ;)

    Fuel Grade???

I was using premium but switched to regular based on feedback in this forum. Runs fine on the cheaper gas... Here's previous threadS on this topic: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...=2930&hl=octane Octane POLL
