Mount for fourth generation iPod Nano

Aquabox is what I did... that way I can use the nano or the iPhone.

My first scratch on my '08

I've got the exact same issue... edges of the boots scuffing up the side panels. I've pretty much resolved myself to just living with it- they're the only scuffs or scratches on the bike. I suppose if I wanted to sell it and was worried about the effect it would have on the price I could repaint...

    Last farkle

Got my Givi E52 top box and mounting plate this weekend and mounted it up... just in time for the snow to start. It does look a little strange without the side cases on; but tolerable aesthetically with them there. And my way too big laptop case fits inside! Farkles so far, almost a year...

    FJRF003.1: Ignition Switch

Had mine done Saturday at Cycle Nation in Braselton. Very easy (and it gave me chance to try out my newly purchased heated undies!) and came back with the same key. Took abut 2 hours, but they also had a guy in the shop who had just wrecked his bike and needed some emergency repairs.

    parasitic Datel?

Thread resurrection! How much drop have folks seen when running the meter off of a fuse block rather than straight from the battery? I ran mine through a switched blue seas fuse block and, comparing it with a good Fluke meter straight off the battery, can't really see much difference. Maybe .03v...

    Sat. Dec. 27th ride

So.... still moto400 around 10? It's right around the corner from me and weather Saturday looks excellent... it's been a crappy couple of weeks, so I can use a ride.

UPDATE: Trial of man who shot biker following his daughter

Very short jury deliberations... convicted on all counts, life plus five.

    Radar detector's against laser

Infrared lidar is a much higher frequency than X, K, or Ka band radar; in the terahertz range rather than gigahertz range. Interference for a lidar detector will come from either strong infrared light striking the receiver or RFI, radio frequency interference, where strong radio signals will...

How did you learn to ride?

My parents hate motorcycles. Well, at least my Mom does- Dad would worry, but wouldn't stop me. Which meant that growing up, I wasn't allowed to even look at two wheels with a motor. One of my friends in the neighborhood had a Suzuki trail bike (can't remember what it was... TS90, maybe?) and I...

    November Ride

Well, obviously I couldn't get away from the honey-do list. Haven't even had time to hit the Loop. :( Hope everyone had a good time and a safe return...

    Suches pics Nov. 1, 2008

Canon 20D / Sigma 50-500. Need a camera with a bigger frame buffer, but the 1D is a bit out of my price range while I'm saving for a 5D MkII.

    Suches pics Nov. 1, 2008

Nice and warm today, and I haven't had a chance to scuff up the side of the new front tire yet, so I scooted up to Suches and unlimbered the camera. Lots of leaf-peepers, as was to be expected. After an hour or so I headed up 60 until I got lost (on purpose) and set the GPS for home. This guy...

    Speed Control Danish Style

I tried this today, and I can say it doesn't work at all. I spent four hours with my shirt off on the highway and everyone sped up.

Ever get scared teaching someone to ride?

    1. Yes, 2. Yes, and 3. Yes. Any other questions? :D

Ever get scared teaching someone to ride?

Re: Not having been trained to train her: I wholeheartedly agree. When I decide on a topic I want to teach, I create a lesson plan for it; some of them become a two-inch thick stack of paper, depending on the subject. I've never done that for something like motorcycle riding, so I don't even...

    POS Para Ordnance

That sucks. I had a 14-45LDA as a duty gun (back when my agency allowed us to carry whatever we wanted, as long as it wasn't single action). I had gotten a Safariland SSIII duty holster for it before I realized the SSIII wanted the gun to be cocked and locked, and the LDA won't allow you to keep...

Ever get scared teaching someone to ride?

A co-worker decided she wanted a bike. She's never ridden before, and is about 4'11"; maybe. Many of us told her to get a small displacement used bike and learn on that; get used to riding, and then sell it and buy what she wants. Did she listen? Nope, she bought a Harley Heritage Softail...

    November Ride

I might be in, depending on unforeseens, as Anderson is only about 70 miles from here. Need to work out that new front tire, anyway.
