    Blurry right side mirror

I used to think the same way until I was in a couple of high-speed chases and didn't notice... Now I try to check my mirrors more often.

    Jewellery

Susie, a first grader, came home from school and as usual was talking with her mother about how the day had gone. "What did you learn today?" her mother asked. "Well," said Susie, "We learned to spell some new words, like 'tree' and 'door', which have 4 letters and not just 3 like 'dog' or...

    CFR 2009 a rousing success!

Home safe and sound after a fabulous time at CFR 2009! It was my first FJR rally, and great to finally meet folks from the forum and put faces to names. Another huge thank you to all the organizers and everyone who came and made it such a great event!

Going to the Sun Road not open for weeks

Which finger?? Maybe you can splint it straight and use the other 3 for pulling the clutch. And I can help with the dressing thing.

    CFR - where are you?!

Big SIGH!! I'm so jealous of all you on the road! Just 2 more days of work, and then I'm leaving Wednesday morning. Looking forward to meeting you all in Nakusp!

Banff / Jasper NP early August 2009

A few suggestions to get you started: Lake O'Hara is my all time favourite place in the whole world!! Access is limited: you have to take a bus (or walk in 11km one way, uphill!) and reservations strongly recommended. The access is in Yoho National Park, just west of Lake Louise, across the...

    Lived Through An Evening Ride...

A close encounter of the unwanted kind! Glad it wasn't a more disasterous encounter. I've learned to pay attention to those bad vibes I get some times coming up behind a vehicle - I just take a breath and slow down, pull back - too often when I get that uneasy feeling, the vehicle does...

    Problem with TourTech Stem Mount

Thanks to all who answered. I went back to shop and talked with the mechanic - we took the stock stem nut off, cleaned the threads, checked the thread pitch, and cautiously tightened the TechMount Stem Nut - tightened down to the recommended 82 ft-lbs without a problem. All is good!

    Problem with TourTech Stem Mount

Oops! It is indeed a TechMount! I'll borrow a 36mm socket to take off the stock stem nut - which the mechanic put back on without a problem - and examine the threads myself.

    Problem with TourTech Stem Mount

I had the bike in to my local mechanic Friday for spring maintenance, ignition switch recall, installation of Helibar Riser and Tourtech Stem Mount - he had a problem threading the replacement stem nut from Tourtech. He said the stock stem nut threaded easily by hand and torqued down without...

    Calgary TechDay

Definitely interested - depends on when. Shoveled a bunch of snow out of the north-facing back yard today, a few more warm days and I can likely get the bike out of the storage shed B)

    CFR Vintage Riders Breakfast

You can count me in for breakfast. And thanks to Kasey for the work on this and the routes. But I wonder - is there anyone on this forum UNDER 50??

    Calgary Motorcycle Show

Kasey: Looks like I'll be there Saturday morning. I'll be sure to come by Doris's booth and say hi.

I'm hoping to make it down for the show - not sure when though.

    Alberta Members

Yeah, there's a few Albertans on the forum. I'm fairly new to the forum, having upgraded my Concours to an FJR this year. It looks like the Canadian rally will be in the Kootenays in June - looking forward to meeting folks there!

    Heli Group Buy..... (ends 11/15/2008)

I ordered the Triple Clamp Riser this morning. Many thanks for putting this together!

    To My Fellow Canuckians

Amen to that! My "teens" are now 23 and 26 - both were home this weekend with friends and cousins whose families weren't together for whatever reason. It was great to have a houseful of "kids" again, and I'm thankful they have grown into such great adults.

Not much of an Islay fan, But Speyside... :nyam: I killed almost a whole bottle of 16 yo cask strength Manochmore at EOM...Oh the memories! You can remember things after that??

    CFR 2009

No mention of the 3 possible venues, yet - IMHO Nelson is as close to the perfect place for a rally you can come: in the centre of the Kootenays, the New Grand Hotel caters to motorcyclists, Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground is just down the road, lots of other hotels, etc. But I'm in regardless!

would you make fun of me

Hey, all the old cowboys around here wear pantyhose on the trail - adds warmth and significantly cuts down on chafing (so they say). Not sure how it would work for long distance MC riding, though.
