    ngk irridium

yeah, I put them in @ 12000 and didn't tell detect difference. But you have to put some plug in, so might as well be the most expensive one ... works for me.

    Wix Oil Filters

As of 2009, this is no longer made by Champion, now made in Mexico by an unknown (to me) company. In the Champion made Walmart filter you could look down the guts of and see a coil spring that held the high pressure relief valve. The current filter, reportedly made in Mexico, has no spring...

CA 127 Death Valley Junction to Baker, CA 04/11/10

^^^ HEY - I've been there back when the earth was young, and I think that was the name of the mime performer then. Wonderful show and met her husband. Fab murals decorate the theatre, she did herself. And stayed in the hotel in the center part of the building - old over stuffed chairs &...

    Coolant????

not speaking for this owner of cars and motorcycles. Always distilled water if it goes into the coolant mix.

    Coolant????

absodamlutely, was just going to post up this same point. I happened to unintentionally run a test on this 'good water' vs. distilled water for mixing w/ antifreeze; never going to do that again... Distilled water is $1/gal at any grocery store.

I just changed my oil.... and......

my '04 cans are not yellowed @ 52,000. I'd guess discoloring was prolonged heavy throttle application; an Iron Butt guy would know. At some point you're just going to want to accept and enjoy riding the bike rather than worrying about prior use. good you've got fresh oil in it. Strong motor.

So, How low Do yours go....

my $.02 - with 10K on the tires, and especially with your asking the question, then yes - it's time to change.

    Water getting in gas tank

I'd try filling up at a station with the ethanol gas mixture. ethanol blends with water, which pure gas won't of course. Up here (WA) these stations all have the 'contains ethanol' label on the pump.

Want your opinion on this 2007 FJR1300A

well, of course I have an '04, but that looks like a good bike, just 2700 miles - would be hard to hurt it, speaking from a 52,000 perspective...

2 Issues on used 09A test ride

a low mileage low priced bike? owned by really a non-user who probably doesn't know jack? give another try. some thoughts within the limits of short internet post format - 1 - On dive and fall-in: go back to the bike and do these things, in full view of owner: A) with your tire gauge be...

    8k Service

changed my stock plugs at 12,500, they looked great. Put in iridium plugs; bike worked the same. throttle body sync, well we all have our stories. mine: had never been done, was at a tech day demo somewhere around 15,000 miles - and my bike was a demo for the TB sync. tech said it was the...

    Screen retract only works sometimes

mine too, probably 30% of time (52,000miles), but doesn't bother me.

    Irridium Spark Plugs

Experience speaks ^^^, listen. Some yrs ago had changed my stock plugs @ 12,500 miles (looked good) for iridium plugs. couldn't notice any difference. still use iridium plugs now (@52,000 miles). Now can't even remember when I changed them last. My bad. so the benefit is in our heads...
