When my 05 died pulling onto a road out of a driveway it turned out to be the ignition switch contacts.
After I sprayed some Pro Gold into the ignition switch weep hole it hasn't acted up since.

The narrow pointed iridium center electrode will arc over at a lower voltage than a more blunt electrode which possibly could advance the timing ever so slightly, maybe that's what the dyno's are picking up on?

I've rotated the pistons in the bores like this to clean them, it's still a pain in the arse but it works well for me.There is a certain amount of inherent pad drag on this bike but that makes for a quicker response time. When I looked at the price to replace the caliper seals I said, NFW.
Have you looked for any error codes?

Does a "a 2003 Civic" have an ECU data collector that can have vehicle speed and other parameters recalled from it?

That sounds low, I'm at 14.1-14.2V. :unsure:
Above idle I'm at ~13.8V (Datel right on the battery posts) with a pair of 55W bulbs on.
