    Draggin knees!

Yellow Wolf an incredible rider, keeps up with SB's and a 1K very impressive. When I went through Deal's Gap I was in a van and I wanted to check it out as it was a side trip for business. The Store I heard was for sale too , I am sure the rock slide didn't help.

Dang it, changed my oil and broke my FJR.

I agree it sounds like air in the line. the other thing to be aware of are the error codes, really helpful when they pop up. AE's like to run at 1100 -1150 RPM too. Below 1000 and they can throw codes for too low of an idle speed. The rubber tubes just need to hang down for drainage.

    Cortisone injections

I had it on a knee a few times. The information is correct is reduces the swelling which ( hopefully) reduces the pain. it is IMO a stop gap most of the time. In my case I am putting off a knee replacement. it seems every few years they get better and better.

SPOT services and SPOT-1 Vs. SPOT-2.

Using the Spot 1 I found that you had to make sure you got a green light to send a message and it is easy to to not note it. The trees and S. Mountains can screw it up. hopefully the V2 is better

    Offroading an FJR? ...or...InFeDeLiTy...*gasp*!

The Dakar is the best bike BMW made IMO. Almost all DS or dirt bikes are tall for travel and clearance. Some lower them ( not a good idea , it is self defeating) the best is a custom seat that is lowered.

My Wife is down but not out

Prayers to both of you. The caregiver is very tough as well. I remember the feeling on unable to "do" anything about it. Give yourself some mental health breaks as well ,hang with the guys, wish whatever for a day. Cancer is journey for both of the victim of the disease and the caregiver.

WA Speed Patrol in force the next few weeks

Yep. Today ( Sunday 4/11) as well, they where out in force lots of bikes as well as a lot of rusty or new riders. I watched one almost lose it on a newly polished chromed HD when they saw a LEO hiding. Locked the rear on a yellow and just saved it. A lot of them are unmarked as well.

High blood pressure, in middle aged men.

Yes the magic 50 physical is not just the usual one with the added bonus. I finally relented to the colonoscopy in a couple weeks. To bE blunt Americans in peticular are too fat hence the BP issues. Very few lean ( 10% under ideal body weight) have issues. I used to run 5 miles a day in CA , but...

    Comments on the Auto Shift?

After owning a AE for almost 2 years and going back to using a clutch you really learn to appreciate the AE. No missed shifts, tired clutch hand or the pucker moments on a really steep hill and having to make a hard right onto a fast incline. A breeze with the AE , a lot of other stuff to manage...

    Offroading an FJR? ...or...InFeDeLiTy...*gasp*!

get yourself a cheap KLR the little 400ccc Yamaha DS or similar. dents are OK they add character. Big bikes are way too heavy ( in this old farts opinion) to do much off the road. Dump your FJR and it is $$ . Dump a protected "beater" and what the heck. (and you will dump it doing single track)...

High blood pressure, in middle aged men.

All right a brief recap. There are 2 basic types of HBP, Labile and Essential. The first starts often with vacillations, in BP. Going up and down over a period of time. Much of the time the point is reached that the body appears to establish a new set point of higher BP. This can be treated for...

It is hard to get a bad review when the reviewers have so much to gain. The Publishers such as magazines are really hurting as well as newspapers. This offers near free distribution and a potential to save some of them. Online video streaming etc. can only make more money. Apple is a master of...

    preperations for my Alaska trip

+1 on the bug net. I never did Alaska on a bike just a 4x4, but those mosquitos are as big as helicopters. I found this very cool hammock at REI that fit in a very small bag and sealed you in with zipper netting. I just it a fair amount vs the tent. The worst part IMO are the RV caravans stay...

    2008 used price

The best ( IMO of course Solution) way to handle it is to call the DOL and ask them what the tax would be if you where to buy a 2008 bike used. The number they give you is very difficult to dispute it comes from the NADA by the way. If they complain tell them you will file a complaint with the...

    The power of the badge...

DEA officer stops at a ranch in Texas , and talks with an old rancher. He tells the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher says, "Okay, but do not go in that field over there," as he points out the location. The DEA officer verbally explodes saying...
