2411 checking in. Haven't noticed any symptoms, but I only have 16k on the clock. Would you advise removing the Power Commander before taking the bike to the dealer for the recall?

    XJR-1300

I saw this one at the top of the Julier pass in Switzerland, August 2003. The guy in the background is french and he is saying "Verboten" as I take the picture. He thinks I'm german because I'm riding a BMW R1150RS with Munich plates. I say, Sprecken sie English, and he switches to perfect...

My Alpinestar 360 Drystar suit is waterproof. I rode 650 miles from Eureaka CA to Seattle Wa in one day, rain all the way and I arrived dry except for my feet. Alpinestars SMX aren't waterproof. Rain was so hard that people were stopping and pulling over on the freeway. Also got stuck in a 3...

    Tick a lick a ding dong !!!

Had my 05 ticker fixed late in 2005 and got the revised seals. Earlier in the year Yamaha was replacing the entire head assy and sending the old ones back to Japan for study. The folks who got the new head didn't get the new seals.

    05 in for "tick" diagnostics

The tick will be most pronounced between 3200-3500 up to about 4000 then it goes away, at least for an early stage ticker. Worldbound - That's exactly how mine developed. First noticed it when hot, but not there after a full cool down. Sounds exactly like a chevy small block with a bad lifter...
