had some fun with a K1600GT

Neat graph UP, I've got a couple of questions/obervations. It appears that the C14 has a higher terminal speed in 5th than it does in 6th. Is the FJR's overall gearing closer to the C14 in 5th or 6th? Is the Beemer in 5th or 6th in this graph?

    no riser's rider?

No risers here, I find the stock setup quite comfortable.

    Weekly Harley Rant

No way, too modern for me, but I might try one of those new fangled V twin harleys in a couple of years. I'll wait and see if the design has any staying power.

    Weekly Harley Rant

Harley's first Vtwin was in 1909...I think. In 1908 FN of Belgium was making an inline 4 shaft drive.

What gives? why wont my FJR stay straight

Mine wants veer left also, my road king did the same thing. harley riders maintained it was because of all the final drive shtuff was on the left. Probably the same with the FJR.

Finally got the bike-now I got questions !

    1. I use 3rd on 25 mph roads, 4th on 35 mph roads, and 5th on 45 mph and over. You start out in 2nd? I use first gear, I paid good money for it and I'm dam well gonna use it, besides this bike already gets beat up for having only 5 speeds, now you want to make it a 4 speed. 2. Mine turns...

    New FJR Model

I agree, I am afraid that Yamaha will bow out of the ST market to focus on the Super Tenere. :(

    Got a ticket today

Yea, if the bag did not deploy, I think it would put the scenario where Howie hit the Lexus first on thin ice. I'm no expert but I do know that several parameters have to be met before deployment occurs. Obviously all parameters are met in a panic brake/impact, but maybe not when pushed into...

    Got a ticket today

Howie, did the air bag deploy?

How I got more riding time!

Man that looks really nice, good job. I did the bathroom this year, down to studs then build back up and put in a tub enclosure. I don't have the skill or patience for a kitchen like that. I'm envious, and if my wife were to see these pictures she would be too. :P

    Did I buy a BMW?

Mine did it too when I first bought it. I kept a eye on the fluid level, never went down, and eventually it quit doing it. Not saying yours is the same as mine but it might be. Although if I remember correctly, it only took a couple of weeks to clear up, about 300 miles or so.

    America's 5 fastest roads

Yup, I'll vouch for the M5 connector, although that whole mixing bowl ( I275, I96, I696) moves right smartly. The Livonia constabulary makes some good money off those that carry that mindset a little too far down 275. ;)

    Travel Observations

I agree with the bag design, top loads are easier to deal with but I've learned to live with the side loads, they're not that bad. As far as the turn signals, I've owned quite a few bikes with them and the systems are not perfect. Some of the early systems operated on a time a distance...

Thanx, I keep getting that wrong. ;) :)

    Lots of questions

+1, except Gen 1 owners are not superior. They have feelings of inadequacy because............their bikes are too small. :D
