    Another KLR joins the ranks

Welcome to the flock you are now one of us. I have an 02 and it is my daily use bike. The FJR sits most of the time and I only use itfor trips and rides with buddies. In the last half of August I plan on taking the KLR on about a 7,000 mile trip to the Pacific NW and camping and staying in...

    What's would you do?

There are worse things that skunks in this world. When I bought my farm years ago it had an old farm house that had been desserted for years. Some skunks decided to make it home and you could hear them rustling about at night and crawling out but obviously you couldn't seal the holes until they...

    Haulin Ashe goes International

I'll be up there in mid August. What do you need to cross the border. I understand that for now all you need is a copy or your birth certificate and a photo ID. Is that correct? Thanks, Chester

Computer hard drive swap question/ problem

I am in the same boat but have not done it yet. I have a program that came with the Norton System works called Ghost. It can be purchased separately. It is supposed to let you transfer all of your files to the new disk and then you just remove the old disk and stick the new one in and should not...

Help! Can't remember where this stupid part goes!

I did that with the seat :dribble: but after about 600 miles I started to miss it and put it back on. :yahoo:

Got a almost new CBR1000rr, and haven't crashes yet!!

Yeah but do you have a 1200 GSA? Neither do I. Congratulations. Looks like it turned out really well and done quickly too. You do have a knack for falling into the proverbial bucket when it comes to motorcycles.

    OOPS! Forgot about THAT one...

I obviously don't know her but because it was in her purse she may have simply forgotten that it was there. I carry a small pocket knife and don't even think about it. Had to go to court onces as a witness and had to pass through a metal detector. Luckily the knife was small enough and they...

    smart fortwo

Hell Matt you could throw one of those on the back of your FJR for the next time you have a flat. Too bad for the vacation glitches but you know the old saying about a bad day (insert here) is better than a good day at work. Chester

Chicago area: Anybody have a NoMar tire changer?

Mark I'm pretty sure that you have seen Smitty use his so you know how good they are. If you guys can swing it it will be worth it. If you don't have a place to leave one permanently mounted and do have a vehicle with a receiver hitch, get that mount from them. I have it and it works fine...

    BBQ 101

Not quite liq. oxy. and starting charcoal but a friend of mine has a pontoon boat down at Table Rock Lake, MO. A few years ago a guy in a houseboat a few slips down spilled gasoline on his houseboat and luckily he had a wet vac to clean it up. Guess what, not a good idea. Caught his boat on...

Going to look at a blackbird

The GIVI bags should not add very much. I have those bags on my KLR650 and I paid $220+ 2 years ago for both of them. They are a lesser quality than what we typically get for our FJR's. The mount would probably be an extra $200 or so. It looks great and if the price is right it would be fun.

    Engine Heat

I have to admit that my KLR650 puts out much less noticeable heat than my 05 FJR. Perchance he should look at a dual-sport. I also have to complain that when it is cold my FJR does not put out enough heat. So what do ya do. Ignore the heat/lack of heat and go out and enjoy the ride. I personally...

Help! Stuck in CO with a flat

Spoke to Matt a little while ago. He is at a dealership in Littleton, CO and looks like he should soon be on the road again. Its a large dealership and should have what he needs in the line of dual-sport tires. :yahoo: No, they sell FJR's so he should be fine.

Help! Stuck in CO with a flat

If you do go the Slime route, they have tube and tubeless. Be sure to get the tubeless. I used the tube type in my KLR and put almost 5,000 miles on that tire. With my tube I had zero mess but obviously the tube contained the Slime. Standing by to do what I can. The dental is at 3:30 so let me...

Help! Stuck in CO with a flat

Matt - just tried your cell and left a message. As I told you, I have a new set of Storms and if you could get to KC your in business. In a worst case situation, I have the portable setup for my No-Mar if you think that you could get most of the way here but it sure would be easier in a shop...

    Discussion About Radar Detectors

This is more of a question than a statement for I don't know the answer. I have been looking at getting a radio for communicating on my bike and it is my understanding that if they are less than so much power, 1 or so watts that they do not require a license. Wouldn't that somewhat transfer to...

    KLR 650

I too have an 02 that I bought new. It will turn 30,000 miles in the next few days. I am getting ready now to go to CO , WY, & MT for a little exploring and camping on it next Saturday for 10 or so days. It gets used almost daily as a commuter around Kansas City and the 60 mles down to my farm...
