The GIVI bags should not add very much. I have those bags on my KLR650 and I paid $220+ 2 years ago for both of them. They are a lesser quality than what we typically get for our FJR's. The mount would probably be an extra $200 or so. It looks great and if the price is right it would be fun.

I have to admit that my KLR650 puts out much less noticeable heat than my 05 FJR. Perchance he should look at a dual-sport.
