New place to mount cruise servo on a AE!!! L@@K

Mike I'm very glad that you made it home. All things considered you were quite lucky. We went on a ride the next morning with some other guys and I peeled off after about an hour and headed back to Kansas City. Not far from your incident one guy on a ZZR took a spill and wasn't quite so lucky...

Speeding Tickets, your best excuses that have worked

This may be a cop joke but I used to work with a guy years ago who was a part time cop. He said that he stopped a women for speeding one time and asked her "Where the fire was." She said "Between my legs. Do you have enough hose to put it out?" He said that he was dumbfounded and let her go.

Getting off FJR with bags on

I'm 6'2" and while the FJR is nothing, on my KLR650 with a GIVI rear bag I do it similarily to the way that you do. It is probably 4" higher and the rear bag is closer to your backside than on the FJR. It works OK but is not very graceful. I do however grab my right pants leg and lift my leg up...

    Hooterville 400 spring fling!!!!

I'm in for any and all adventures in the land of Hooters. Especially 400 miles of them. For me both weekends will work with the second weekend being the first choice but they will both work. Just leave out the rain. Chester

    Internet rumor about the FJR

I wished that I would have known this before I bought this piece of crap FJR. I probably spend 3 - 4 hours a day dragging pegs. The rest of its features on the bike are totally irrelevant such as overall performance, comfort, styling, etc. I think that I need to trade it in on a unicycle for...

    Tire Changer Stand

For my NoMar I too used a 4'x4'x3/4" sheet of plywood with 2x4's along the underside edge and two splitting the middle for extra weight and stiffness. This works fine and with me standing on it it doesn't move. Recently NoMar came out with a 2" reciever hitch mount that I got and used for the...

    Dual Sport Adventure riding

I have a KLR650 and a KTM LC640 Dual Sport. The KLR is better for roads and longer distances. The KTM is a little more serious for dirt and trails but is still heavy at upper 300#'s full of fuel. Also, 300 miles or so and you will want to end the day. The KTM 950 is a pretty seriously tall bike...

NEW Sport Touring tires from Avon !

Ditto - Smitty141 helped me mount my tires last month and after finding the balance point on the rims then adjusting the tires accordingly, zero weight was used and stable up to 130mph

    FJR Gatherings

I think that MNFJR05 is just saying that the CFO will be held within the states on his proposed list and the other groups will be held within their respective list of states. Not that you cannot attend any other groups rides. This would result in not having two groups planning their meeting in...

    NHRA Junior Drags

Sparky - thanks for the info. I have no desire to get one, I was just curious as to what was going on as there was no sound and all I could do was see them. I must admit, they are not as expensive as I thought they might be. For 5 hp, they scoot right along.

    NHRA Junior Drags

While at lunch today they had the NHRA Junior Drags on TV for kids from 8 yrs or so to about 17. The cars they were driving looked like rails and the times and speed ranged from about 10 sec/50mph to 8 sec/80mph. The track must be an 1/8th mile. Any info on engines used, fuel (gas, not race...

ConAgra, Harley-Davidson team up to sell beef jerky

I didn't realize that most taverns were so far apart that you would have to lay in a supply of food to get to the next one.

    Trailer size question

I think that a 5x8 should work but I would go ahead and get a 5x10. You could put a job box up front to carry your gear safe and locked up and the bikes behind that. The cost differential is minimal and I think that you would find it more useful for other things. I have a 4x8, a 5x10, and a...

Whowas the FJR guy I spotted SAT 9-30 @ the Cliff House in Jasper AR

There was about a dozen of us there at lunch time. I know I spoke to several people as I'm sure most of us did. You will have to join us the next time we go on a trip. "Petey", was on his FZ1 on this trip, is from Stillwater. Chester
