BBG Thursday April 29, Need some help

Congrats Nate. That's a tough ride.

The Real Pines to Palms Ride

I've heard 35 hours is the quickest unofficial time. Of course there are no official records. Be prepared for slow traffic once you hit Key Largo. I stopped counting LEO's at around 40. Beware of tall scantily clad women on the street corners of Key West ... extra points for a pic with one of...

The Real Pines to Palms Ride

+1 One of my favorite IBA rides. When we did this ride with the MNLDriders in 06' it was freezing at the Angle, snowing while riding along the border, and hotter than hell in the Keys. Really bummed I couldn't make this one. Hope everyone has a safe trip and expect some ride reports when you...

    Possibly my dumbest ride yet

Unless you've got a compelling reason to go to Fargo, consider staying in Canada until Kenora and come down via the Sioux Narrows. Awesome road. When you going?

Got to try out the Tanji FBFC

Here's an idea I stole from Paul Peloquin. Not the most secure, but very solid, easy, and requires no drilling into the bottom of your case. If security is your priority this probably isn't your right solution. Personally I don't take the case off the bike. Just throw some padlocks on it, cover...

Auxiliary light mounts and brackets from Alex

Alex, I received the mounts this weekend. Nice job! I think they'll support the SOLTEK's very nicely once I get the bike put back together. Cheers, Derek

    Mason Dixon 20 20 Rally

Wish I could make this one. Rick puts on a great rally. Where else could you run across a tired, lone female rider with a smile on her face...at 0200 in the morning...on a cold foggy rainy morning...in the middle of West Virginia. :) BTW...I would not recommend US 50 under those conditions...

Who has best OEM prices for parts

I orders parts this weekend so compared several parts sources. Zanotti came out the winner ordering about $500 of various parts. I'd compared several vendors a few months ago and Zanotti's prices have remained the same where others have increase from 5 to 15 percent.

The Norwegians made it to Minneapolis. Here's another video

    Long way Down / Around

A couple of crazy Norwegians are attempting the "Dumb Way Round". No support crew and riding 1930's bikes. They should be in Minneapolis today, riding a couple of Nimbus bikes with sidecars around the world. A couple of pics from a stop in South Dakota...

    Gary McCoy

This is bad news. I'm getting ready to order a shitload of parts to rebuild my '05 and was counting on Gary. Hope he finds a dealership that understands his dedication and way of doing business.

    Cheap HID Aux lights

The 4" light weigh's 1lb 12 oz. Didn't ask about the 7". So who's going to try these out?

Midland CB Radio - Where do you put it?

I use a Cobra HH 38 WX/St with an Autocom system. The Cobra is similar in size to the Midland and resides in my tankbag. I don't believe it would fit in the glove box unless you did some like cut out the bottom. I took a couple of pieces of tubing and attached to the squelch and volume knobs...

    Great Lakes

The MTF hosted a ride in 2004 called the "Poker Run From Hell" that did exactly that in 5 days. Details can be found here: https://www.bsu.edu/web/00amleduc/mtf/PRFH/prfh04.htm Sounds like a fun ride. Derek

    Any CCT sound bytes?

You'll find a couple of vid's in this thread. If you can't tell what side its coming from I wouldn't worry about it. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...=116489&hl=

    Patching Roadsmart...anyone else have trouble?

I patched a Roadsmart a few weeks ago. It was a fairly small, uniform hole. Reamed it out and the sticky worm is holding 42psi nicely. Glad to see Iggy working on his reading comprehension. "No really, I meant to write down the gallons on that fuel log entry." just too good to let slide...

    Announcing the Rally Rallye

Ohhhh. Double-SNAP!! Midwest boy's talkin' smack. :nhl_fight: :lol2: I do remember a certain Harvest rally where that Intruder had no problems keeping up with an FJR. I'd love to come out and play but can't make a commitment right now.
