That is a modified one on a GenII.

The two top choices seem to be Russell & Mayer. I have a Russell & LOVE it. Mayer is pretty local to you (Ojai) but Russell isn't too far (Shasta) and both have mail in service dialed in. If you are in the 230# and up range you need to go with Russell.

Nice find! I was a bike mechanic in the 80's and we used to spray the engine with WD-40 and it would make it look blacker for a while.

On GenI you need to loosen the rear pivot bolt, you probably need to loosen it on GenII also.
