    Goldwing too small

I think it's when you're too cramped or uncomfortable to operate the bike effectively. Height and inseam and arm length along with weight and general health all play a roll.

    Sorry, oil ?

It's true all motor oils have some Zinc. It's the absolute last defense against metal to metal contact. That is, when all else fails, like when an engine sits for months without running, or is run so severely that the oil begins to break down, the zinc is there to protect you. This is why you...

    Better Riding Techniques

Great point. Whenever you ride with someone, even if it's a sedate ride, your personal timing is off. You're in a different place at a different time than you would be alone. I like riding with someone over highways. On curvy roads, I keep plenty of separation. Just enjoy the ride and the...

    Better Riding Techniques

Lots of great reading above! I like this topic. My best answer? Ride your bike a lot. As time passes, you'll never be in any situation you haven't seen before. Watch motorcycle racing, it will inspire you. Put away speed. there's really no place for it on public roads (unless you know the...

    HELP!! with oil

I have to agree here, your choice of motor oil wouldn't contribute to the destruction of your engine. The deposits, however, can cause problems. This very thing has perplexed me for years; why in God's Universe would an engine maker feed oily, grungy, condensation evaporate right into the...

    Battery

I can vouch for the Westco. Great quality. You'll be a believer.

    What is this connector?

I've been looking at my schematics - don't see it. Post a pic or let us know what it is if you found out.

Bet you could do some sweet jumps with that! Great lights, hardly a shadow in the joint.

    Rode My Wife's Versys Today

It's always fun to get on another bike and ride it where you want. Hocking Hills is a great place to test out just about anything with wheels. :yahoo: Car and Driver is there a lot.

Followed another rider to work today.

Burgman's a good guess. I had one and believe it, it moves - after all it is a 650. Check this out, it's at least entertaining.

    First Christmas sighting

Stores and businesses are doing everything they can these days to extract as many dollars from your wallet as they can in each visit. I've watched their practices go a long way from first: exemplary customer service will bring them back, to second: maximize the amount of dollars every customer...

    Freshly milled roads

Same thing happened to me on my favorite local circuit. Everything loose, held to @30mph, nerve racking the whole way. I was lucky it was only a couple of miles but it did ruin my whole ride. Next time, I'll take the initiative and turn the sucker around and just plain get out of there.

    Dry Hole!

At least you now know that your gears are OK. It's nice to have something much less malicious to hunt down.

How much oil is too much?

A little over full is OK but not a full quart. Aeration is bad. It can show itself as lower oil pressure or not, but you can be sure it's happening if you're a quart over. I know since you found it too full, you'll never let that happen again so you should be OK.

    A good used sportbike (TL1000R)

My local dealer has had a 2002 TL1000S on the floor for a long time. I always look at it and if it's there much longer I may buy it. Great bike, especially for track days. Thanks for the pics! :)

How 'bout showing us a picture of your new bike. :) How's the wind management on that?

    my number wasn't up today{wreck}

These things would not happen if people just looked out of their front window more. I like the way the truck ended up next to the drain so no mess. Glad you're OK, and smart for not jumping on a green.

In support of home wheel balancing

That's a great idea. Kari Byron in assless chaps is too. Or, Kari Byron cooling off some beer :yahoo: .
