Are 2005 rear calipers same as 2008?

For anybody interested the rear brake caliper on a 2005 is not exactly the same as a 2008. The bleeder is on the top of a 2005 instead of on the side as on the 2008 and the bolt that attaches the brake line has a larger head on the 2005 and instead of the fluid going through the hole in the...

Are 2005 rear calipers same as 2008?

After my rear brake stuck and I put all new parts except the caliper,I noticed the contact part of the caliper to the inside brake pad is not good as the caliper was damaged more then I thought I am only getting about half of the brake pad making contact on the inside (left side) of the rotor...

    Rear Brake paed disintegrated

Everything is or was original. A good rider would have stopped with the loss of power instead of more throttle. I appreciate all the help and advise in it not happening again.

    Throttle return spring

I did the throttle spring and also added the Vista cruise. If you are going to add a Vista then you really don't need tp lesson the tension in my opinion because you can lesson it with the vista cruise. Another tip I learned from the board is using the Vista from the Honda. I filed it thinner...

    Rear Brake paed disintegrated

On a post back in August I described how my brake pads had disintegrated. Now after working on my other bikes I have gotten back to the FJR. It appears that the parts melted to the hard parts. I have pictures if I only understood how to show them! Question, should I file off the melted metal or...

    Rear Brake paed disintegrated

Thanks I was considering the Galfer rotors. So you helped me make my decision to go slightly cheaper,EBC. I see the Galfer's are pricey on the front but if they worked better I would save up for them eventually. Hope for an update. Thanks

    Zumo GPS Wiring

If you want to get fancy you can run a relay off the small blue wire for the heated grips near the left storage box. Then your GPS and any other accessories only works with the bike running, Not good if doing things where you want to see your gps when parked. It makes it almost imposable to have...

    Rear Brake paed disintegrated

Thank you for the great advice. What pads do you recommend? Sorry I couldn't spell pads! The system was so hot that initially I had very little front brake, is that because the system is linked? The strange thing is that I had hardly touched the rear brake as I was only on the Freeways, must...

    Rear Brake paed disintegrated

My wife and I had ridden about 100 mile with no problems. We stopped for lunch and were going about 80 on a California Freeway for 20 miles when I felt the bike lose some power. My bike was smoking as the rear brake pad on the right side was in pieces and wedged in the smoking disc. Brake fluid...

    Best Relay Trigger Wire?

Main Question I was planning on using the tail light wire to trigger the relay for a Blue Sea under the seat fuse block install. I have read a forum post mentioning the magic blue wire that deactivates when the starter is engaged. How do I find this magic wire? Is it a better choice...

MY FJR IS KILLING ME !!!!

If you are not prepared to ride physically you could try riding an exercise bike or bicycle to prepare those unique muscles :0). I have taken the advice I learned on this group of wearing bicycle shorts under my CYCLEPORT pants on longer rides for extra comfort. After awhile 300 to 500 mile days...

    Cee Bailey +2+2 with flip

I Have the +2 and at 5' 10" I never look through the flip. I Generally raise the shield on the freeway and open road and lower it all the way down so that I see over it when riding the twisties at the expense of my ears. I ride with a tinted shoei or arai shield and my cee baily is also tinted...
