Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

Interesting to get your take on an A vs ES bike as you've had both. There was a post in the "The best year for the FJR1300" thread from the owner of a 23 model that thought the ES was as good as the aftermarket suspenders he put on his 06 bike.

Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

That seems like an exceptional deal. I found a bike almost identical to the one I posted at the Ducati dealer in Milwaukee and they were asking $10,000. I didn't call, at that price I'd go new. I wouldn't do a fly and ride but I'd drive a day for the right bike.

Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

Thanks for the feedback! Sounds like age shouldn't be much of a concern, just condition. I wasn't aware that the CC limit could be raised with a flash. That would make a big difference. I don't care about LED lighting. Nice to not have but not required. The electronic suspension is a big...

Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

I'm thinking about getting another FJR after not having one since I got rid of my 07 in 2012. I love the styling and features of the 2013 plus models and while there hasn't been a huge update for a few years the discounts available on leftover 23 and new 24 bikes make them a decent bang for your...

    Sold FJR Bar End Weight

Single bar end weight off my 2007 Gen 2 FJR. I removed this and added a Throttle Meister when I owned the bike and never put it back on when I traded it. Perfect shape, no damage. Includes bonus unknown FJR OEM part still in the package. It's a black plastic washer but I have no idea where it...

FS : Shoei Clear Face Shields, New and Used, Central IL

Will sweeten the deal a little, buy either or both of the remaining shields and I'll throw in a set of grip puppies. These came on my 1300 but I don't like them so I removed them. No damage and the bike only had 2700 miles on it when I got it so they can't have more than a couple thousand...

2007 Black Cherry Left Mirror - Central IL

I bought my bike used and the mirror had about a one inch scratch on it that I had repaired and painted by a member here on the forum. While the color match is perfect, the clearcoat has a tiny sag and a few tiny specs of dirt but it looks good, as the pictures show. I kept this as a spare and...

    2007 FJR for sale

Just my two cents, but yeah, that's not a good idea. The bike posted that is not yours has a different seat, frame sliders, bar ends and windscreen. Might mislead a potential buyer.

    Interesting CL find

They were sold in the US for two years, 92 and 93. I owned a 92 for five years. Cool bike.

FJR brakes -- using the foot brake

The K1200/1300S use the slant engine. The older K1200RS, which is what I think you're thinking of, uses the brick engine, the inline 4 laying on it's side. And I agree with all who say you're going to play like you train.

FJR brakes -- using the foot brake

You have excellent braking skills that served you very well in the heat of the moment. Nice job! I have practiced hard stops with the FJR, including purposely activating the ABS. No question you can get the bike to stop harder by letting the weight transfer forward and staying out of the ABS...

FJR brakes -- using the foot brake

ABS was available for sure but don't know if the brick engine K1200RS had the linked feature or not. I'm not as familiar with those bikes.

FJR brakes -- using the foot brake

This is how the brakes worked on my BMW K1200S. Out of all the linked/combined/ABS systems I've used (VFR800 and CBR1100XX linked, K1200S linked with ABS and GSX1250FA ABS not linked) it was my favorite. It worked great when you just wanted to drag the rear a little but was but was ferociously...

FJR brakes -- using the foot brake

Curious to know if you managed to stay out of the ABS during your stop. I had my first emergency stop on the FJR last week when a truck pulled out in front of me. Had the ABS activated both front and rear and didn't feel like I was ever close to lifting the rear wheel. Could be that I just...
