Thanks for the info guys, the reason why I check websites from the US is that because the FJR in Japan is still considered an 'overseas' model and so parts are most of the time cheaper outside of Japan. I know it sounds weird but thats the way it is.

my dealer replaced the MCU but yesterday when I was out on a ride, the error returned albeit only once. But anyway problem still exists, luckily dealer said I did not have to pay for the new MCU if it did not resolve the issue. Could you tell me where you found a used shift motor? Thanks

I have one on my Gen II and it's fantastic, no clearance or vibration issues, rock solid. And the Yamaha logo adds a bit of class to the design too.

Hi all, I was looking to get the side pannier inner bags, and have seen online 2 versions, pre 2006, and 2006 onwards. I guess this reverers to Gen 1 and Gen 2 models? My question is, did the side pannier size or shape change between models? Thus different version inner bags? Thanks
